I am nominating this for featured list because I have worked on it and it meets FL criteria. Achebe was a proficient Nigerian writer and his works has been studied by a variety of scholars and academics. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 17:08, 15 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]Oppose, there are too many unreferenced statements.
- All articles are unreferenced.
- All essays are unreferenced.
- Some books and book reviews are unreferenced.
- All poetry is unreferenced
- Some short story collections are unreferenced.
- "Including Things Fall Apart, Achebe published five novels: No Longer at Ease, Arrow of God, A Man of the People, and Anthills of the Savannah;[a] children’s books: Chike and the River, How the Leopard Got His Claws, The Flute, and The Drum; two short story collections: The Sacrificial Egg and Other Stories and Girls at War and Other Stories; two volumes of poetry: Beware, Soul Brother and Collected Poems; four essay collections: Morning Yet on Creation Day, Hopes and Impediments, Home and Exile, and The Education of a British-Protected Child; a political criticism, The Trouble with Nigeria, and a memoir, There Was a Country." is too long a sentence.
- Note A is unreferenced.
- Note C is unreferenced.
- "Achebe holding a book and sitting in front of a buidling." is spelled wrong and doesn't need a period.
- Online references need to be archived.
- "the Guardian" should be capitalized. History6042😊 (Contact me) 00:22, 17 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- I have fixed the article per your comments above. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 08:00, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- @SafariScribe, no you have not. There are still many unreferenced statements. History6042😊 (Contact me) 12:20, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]Oppose although the nominator claims to have "fixed the article", various areas remain uncited, while some publications are apparently verified by sources published before they were. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 10:05, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- I am sorry but @AirshipJungleman29, your comments most times, instigates withdrawal or discourages one's work, perhaps it is only my view and may not be for others. Please always review a list or article as the case may be, and say where there is problem, so that it would be easy to get fixed. Like your comment above, it doesn't make any sense to me, and neither does it help towards improving the list. Do you know what that means? If this list doesn't achieve FL pass, how would you expect the nominator or subsequent editor to know the issues to fix? Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 11:06, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- I have said where there are problems SafariScribe, and I expect you as the nominator or any subsequent editors to know the issues by reading my comment. If you are unable to match the problems in my comment with the corresponding parts of the article, I will provide inline tags in the list itself. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 11:09, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- I would appreciate it if you provide inline tags; that is the best way to do review. Cheers. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 11:14, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- SafariScribe, I have provided inline tags. I have also noticed significant discrepancies (also tagged) between the lead and the body. For example, the lead splits his fictional work into five "novels" and four "children's books", whereas the body divides it into seven novels and two children's books. Another example is that the lead says he published two short story collections, whereas the list itself says he published four. These discrepancies are confusing and need resolution. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 11:22, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- Thank you. I will fix them right away. Please know that "your oppose" is always discouraging and looks like "we can't go any further", but using with "comment" is a bit like "let's do this". There is no problem though; it is absolutely what I feel. Cheers. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 11:26, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
- I am not an emotionless robot. I oppose the list currently because I feel it does not meet the criteria, but if you fix the issues so that the article meets the criteria and ask me to reconsider, I generally will. See the FLC reviewing instructions. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 12:11, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
