Hi there! As I pointed out previously, we highly recommend against individuals creating their own articles on Wikipedia (see WP:AUTOBIO). Autobiographies often lack a neutral point of view and may contain unverified information. To be eligible for an article, subjects must meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines, which is typically done by providing at least three reliable, independent sources with significant coverage of the coverage. Biographies of living people in particular must meet specific criteria (see WP:BLP), including having in-text citations to verify information. @Justlettersandnumbers: I have removed big portions of the draft, and kept referenced portions and any works that already have an article. The subject appears notable, but this user's competency is in question. The user has not stated his COI, and whether this is autobiographical. Given that, I think the block was harsh. All the user did was enhance the draft and submit for review. @Yamla: Why should the user stop editing the draft on Paul Basinillo? Because of the blatant and repeated violations of WP:COI and WP:PROMO, and because of WP:SPA. I'd want to see them editing other articles in an appropriate manner before they were allowed back to writing about Basinillo. I can imagine a future where they are welcome to edit about Basinillo but I cannot imagine anyone unblocking them to do so at the moment. --Yamla (talk) 14:29, 26 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict) Well, Jay, if the stuff is not an autobiography the user should definitely be blocked for impersonation – I must admit that possibility had not occurred to me. He's continued his promotional editing after two warnings on this page about the creation of autobiographies, and after that I saw no other form of "strong discouragement" that would be effective – and yes, creating five promotional pages on the same topic is most certainly a waste of other editors' time (the draft, draft talk and three user pages). That said, please do as you think best here; given your concerns about impersonation, it might be best to ask the user to confirm his identity to VRT before considering any unblock. Yamla, the decline statement appeared to me like a pre-condition to continue on enwiki. However, editing other articles to gain practice is a fine approach. Justlettersandnumbers, I would have thought this was autobiographical too, then I saw the unblock request reason and wasn't sure any more. The editor can clarify.
