Propose merging Template:POV lead with Template:POV.
Lead POV issues can be covered with the main POV template. If issues are specific to the lead, it can be explained in the edit summary and a talk page discussion. Perhaps a "|lead=yes" parameter could be added to Template:POV if desired? Thebiguglyalien (talk) 🛸 20:59, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support merge with lead parameter caveat: There can be utility in specifying the lead as evidenced by Michael Jordan and LeBron James where there are active NPOV disputes over the omission of certain material from the lead. See also the related project discussion at WT:NBA#Discussion on allowing "greatest" in the lead of all NBA players. Without the lead parameter, the tag would be too broad and unhelpful in such instances. Left guide (talk) 22:28, 16 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep although Merge would also be OK if the "|lead=yes" parameter is added. Edit summaries are not read much, and must be short, and not read at all by regular readers. A discussion on the talk page is not usually even opened. (Instruction like "Tag should only be placed if a talk page discussion exists, or you make one, otherwise the tag may and should be removed on sight without consideration of the merits" or something would help, but that's a different issue.) Ledes are special, are different from other material, are very prominent and the most-read part of an article, and are subject to POVing up by people too lazy to work on the actual article. Not clear to me what this is supposed to do? All it does is transclude itself, which results in a "template loop" (which also makes this template the only page it is transcluded on). Duckmather (talk) 20:17, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Listyfying This would certainly be an option. I have been digging a bit and found two other aviation incidents. Two planes from a aircraft carrier colliding in 1937 (very short article in Dutch) and the crash that took the life of Ahmed Ould Bouceif. Even with the two articles written, it would not be enough for a navigation template but it will fit in the list. The Banner talk 02:56, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
