A tag has been placed on File:South Korean National Assembly Impeaching Han Duck-soo (December 27, 2024).jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file from a commercial source (e.g. Associated Press, Getty Images), where the file itself is not the subject of sourced commentary. If you can explain why the file can be used under the non-free content guidelines, please add the appropriate non-free use tag and rationale.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. charlotte 👸🎄 23:51, 29 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Belbury. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, List of rediscovered films, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. An old archive.org file can't by itself tell us what happened to that file next. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Ryan Borgwardt with his wife.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Ryan Borgwardt with his wife.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:25, 3 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not do this. It's vandalism. — 🌙Eclipse (she/they/all neostalkedits) 16:10, 8 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

What did I do that was vandalism? The revision doesn't say what was wrong PublicDomainFan08 (talk) 17:37, 8 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your image uploads

[edit]

Twice now you have uploaded an image of Ryan Borgwardt. In both cases, and also in other files you have uploaded, you have seemed to be under the impression that it's ok to upload non-free media because there isn't a free license equivalent available. This is patently false. Please read WP:NFCC #1, and note that it says "or could be created". We do not use non-free media in the vast majority of cases where it may be possible to get a free image that would serve a similar purpose. You should also read Foundation:Resolution:Licensing policy #3, where it discusses living people. We do not allow images like this. Borgwardt is alive, and even if he was in prison we would not be using a non-free image of him. So far, every image you have uploaded has either been deleted or, in the last case, about to be deleted. I would ask you to please reconsider uploading non-free images until you clearly understand our WP:NFCC policy and WP:NFC guideline. There's a lot to digest and understand. If you have questions, let me know. Thanks, --Hammersoft (talk) 01:22, 22 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I was told that involving the wife was what broke the rule, so I removed her so it wouldn't break it PublicDomainFan08 (talk) 01:23, 22 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That is one of the issues, yes. The issue I noted above also applies. Please do not upload an image of him, nor any other non-free image, without gaining a strong understanding of WP:NFCC and WP:NFC. --Hammersoft (talk) 03:37, 22 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Stuff like Wikipedia:Files_for_discussion/2023_August_18#File:Lucy_Letby_mugshot.png can happen, but it's rare. If Borgwardt gets life imprisonment, there might be a case. Otherwise, we wait until he steps in front of the right camera. You might find The Heroic Photographers Fixing Bad Celeb Portraits On Wikipedia interesting. My edits

I felt some assassination articles are far far too much detail discursive to the subject of this article. details about Lincoln are in the main article; this article needs to focus only on the circumstances of the attack, or details not appropriate for the main article -- see for example. Also, this is an article on every assassination attempt, not about Lincoln's last moments, the sheer amount of space devoted to the expression upon Lincoln's face when he died is excessive. The man was comatose, from the moment he was shot he was already dead. It would surely fit better on the Lincoln assassination article itself. 78.150.9.200 (talk) 09:03, 6 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
