Métis (Belgian Congo)Métis (Congo)(Requesting this move as article creator, seeking wider community input) I am unsure whether this should be moved to Métis (Congo), as I belive the term also refers to those born in the Congo Free State. Seeking wider community input as I'm not sure if another disambiguator may be more applicable in this case. The problem with having the disambiguating phrase be "Congo" is that multiple polities are commonly abbreviated as such, including during the time of the Belgian Congo and Congo Free State. Has Congolese Métis ever come up in the sources you looked at? Yue🌙 20:53, 27 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose, I don't find the "not Belgian" point convincing re the Free State as it seems like a technicality lacking in substance, and readers aren't at all going to be WP:ASTONISHED to find this article covers both polities. Given they descend from Belgian settlers, it makes it more recognisable to have that in the title. Kowal2701 (talk) 17:41, 15 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
