  • Source: Boxer, Fidalgos in the Far East (1948), p. 98: "On the homeward voyage, he 'ordered a gentleman of quality to be burnt to death, after finding him guilty of indulging in the unspeakable sin of sodomy'. General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: Done.

Overall: New, long enough, and no paraphrasing issues. Looks GTG. Makeandtoss (talk) 17:38, 27 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Makeandtoss and Underbar dk: there is a discrepancy between the certainty of the hook and the source, which by stating "This surely must be the only instance..." does not make it certain. Is better sourcing available? See the last sentence of WP:DYKDEFINITE for why it is necessary. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 13:18, 13 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Would it be fine if I added "according to historian C. R. Boxer?" to the hook? _dk (talk) 21:05, 13 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Probably, although that may make excessively long.~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 08:01, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
