How to assess & class articles

[edit]

You can assess an article by placing or updating the {{WikiProject Globalization|class=|importance=}} banner on its talk page (not the article page) using the two parameters, class (to assess the quality) and importance (to assess the priority) (if you are in doubt, these can be left blank).

Quality assessments

[edit]

An article's quality assessment is recorded using the |class= parameter in the {{WikiProject banner shell}}. Articles that have the {{WikiProject Globalization}} banner template on their talk page will be added to the appropriate categories by quality.

The following standard grades may be used to describe the quality of mainspace articles (see Wikipedia:Content assessment for assessment criteria):

FA (for featured articles only; adds them to the FA-Class Globalization articles category)  FA
FL (for featured lists only; adds them to the FL-Class Globalization articles category)  FL
A (for articles that passed a formal peer review only; adds them to the A-Class Globalization articles category)  A
GA (for good articles only; adds them to the GA-Class Globalization articles category)  GA
B (for articles that satisfy all of the B-Class criteria; adds them to the B-Class Globalization articles category) B
C (for substantial articles; adds them to the C-Class Globalization articles category) C
Start (for developing articles; adds them to the Start-Class Globalization articles category) Start
Stub (for basic articles; adds them to the Stub-Class Globalization articles category) Stub
List (for stand-alone lists; adds them to the List-Class Globalization articles category) List
NA (for any other pages where assessment is unwarranted; adds them to the NA-Class Globalization pages category) NA
??? (articles for which a valid class has not yet been provided are listed in the Unassessed Globalization articles category) ???

Importance assessment

[edit]

An article's importance assessment is generated from the importance parameter in the {{WikiProject Globalization}} project banner on its talk page:

{{WikiProject Globalization| ... | importance=??? | ...}}
Top
High
Mid
Low
???

The following values may be used for importance assessments:

Importance scale

[edit]
Status Template Meaning of Status
Top {{Importance=Top}} This article is of the utmost importance to the project as it provides a common basis for in-depth understanding of globalization.
High {{Importance=High}} This article is very important to the project as it covers a particular expertise or provides a basis for specialized knowledge about globalization.
Mid {{Importance=Mid}} This article is of standard importance to the project as it provides a basis for general knowledge of globalization topics.
Low {{Importance=Low}} This article is of some importance to this project but covers indirect or trivial information related to globalization.
None None The article is of unknown importance to the project. It remains to be analyzed.
