Appearance
This page is a chronology of events in year 2024 directly related to Wikipedia and Wikipedians, both within Wikipedia and in the whole wide world. Wikipedia events and events in sister projects (Wiktionary, Wikibooks, etc.) are listed as long as they are related to Wikipedia.
Additions to this page must follow certain rules,[a] because it is hoped that in 50 years or so this page will become a valuable source of scholar research.

- 2 February: Stanislav Kozlovsky, director of the Russian chapter of Wikimedia was listed as "foreign agent" by Russia’s Justice Ministry[2][3]
- 22 March: Wikimedia RU was listed as "foreign agent" by Russia’s Justice Ministry[4]
- 7–10 August:
m:Wikimania 2024, 19th annual Wikimedia Conference was held in Katowice, Poland, as an in-person and online event. (It could have been the 20th event, but the 2020 event was cancelled due to COVID).
- 26 October: New Admin Recall policy was adopted[5]
- 28 October: Romanian Wikipedia reached the 500.000 articles milestone[6]
- Mid-December: Women in Red crossed the 20% milestone of all biographies
- December 21: A quick RFC "Should the article on Santa Claus fall under WP:BLP?" was closed with the snowball "Yes". Ho ho ho
