Information icon Hello, I'm MrOllie. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 15:52, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I think a distinction needs to be made between what is promotional and what is an editorial update. The page was created in 2010. Obviously there is updated news to inclide which is provided with due diligence of being source based and internet articles that can be quoted in the Footnotes. Jashnetalat (talk) 15:56, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Updating the article cannot be a cover for adding blatant promotion - and that is what you did. Kindly do not do so again, it is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia and against several policies, some of which were linked in my message above. MrOllie (talk) 16:00, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you use Wikipedia for promotion or advertising. MrOllie (talk) 16:01, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please be informed that this is not fair from an editorial perspective. I request and urge you to notice that every change added to the page is quoted with the support of independent articles avaialble in the press and the national media. Nothing is imaginary. And nothing is self-promotional. It is a mere update on a hugely popular media personality whose has grown by leaps and bounds. Once you check the sources posted in Footnotes, you will agree to what Im saying. Jashnetalat (talk) 16:16, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I checked the sources. I still conclude that what you added is blatant promotion and a misuse of the encyclopedia. MrOllie (talk) 16:23, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This is sheer harassament and ill informed high handedeness by the User named MrOllie Jashnetalat (talk) 16:27, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have any relationship with Sahar Zaman?

Absolutely not !! Jashnetalat (talk) 16:27, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:EW. Please be aware you may be blocked if you revert again on this article. Wait to get consensus on the article talk page that your material belongs. You filed a complaint at WP:RFPP but it appears that actually you are the one at fault. See if you can persuade anyone else. EdJohnston (talk) 17:09, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for edit warring at Sahar Zaman (journalist)

[edit]
Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you believe that there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 17:15, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked indefinitely

[edit]

You have been adding wording to Sahar Zaman (journalist) like "As Asia's first webchannel, Hunar TV has collaborated with artists, cultural platforms and global festivals to make arts accessible to the daily view. Her functional art brand Chamak Patti, is an extention of her artisitc and editorial talent in making handmake works using the street materiral of relfective tape to decorate luxury homes" and "Her insights as Talat’s grand-niece and skills as a journalist", etcetera painfully promotional wording, attempting to edit war them into the article. This you source to an interview in Hindustan Times which consists to 90% of Sahar Zaman's own words. Her own self-praise is clearly not a reliable source for your promotion, especially considering that there is no source at all offered for the "artisitc and editorial talent" bit. I don't know whether you are doing this as an undisclosed paid editor, as seeems likely, or merely as an admirer, but it doesn't make any difference. Wikipedia is in any case not for promotion, and especially not for insisting on edit warring that promotion into the article, as you do. Promotion appears to be your sole interest as an editor. You have therefore been blocked indefinitely. You can request unblock from an uninvolved administrator by placing {{unblock|your reason here}} on this page.
