Question from Hatem Taher Kandeel (09:59, 14 March 2025)

[edit]

Hi I’m new to Wikipedia and want to learn how to create a page. --Hatem Taher Kandeel (talk) 09:59, 14 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

To create a page, you create a draft and then submit it. You can create a draft by making an article with the Draft: prefix or in the sandbox. What are you creating the draft about? ScrabbleTiles (talk) 10:05, 14 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Thimbleby1 (22:02, 15 March 2025)

[edit]

Hi, I was just reading the Wikipedia entry for Thimbleby, North Yorkshire and noticed that reference 1, UK Census, appears to confuse Thimbleby North Yorkshire with Thimbleby Lincolnshire. Small point I know, but hopefully someone can change this to provide the correct information. --Thimbleby1 (talk) 22:02, 15 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, you can change this if you want as the page has no protection. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 16:34, 16 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Pending changes reviewer granted

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.

Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

You refer to a maintenance template...

[edit]

being removed, at this IP address's Talk page—could you please clarify (here), the template about which you wrote? We see no template that has been removed, other than ones we ourselves placed and removed (because of editorial improvements to the article redering them obsolete), or otherwise ones likewise no longer applicable (for other reasons). Can you clarify? 98.226.86.66 (talk) 16:37, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. First of all, try to keep all conversations on one page as it’s less confusing. As to the edit, you were removing a copyright violation template, which I reinstated as you shouldn’t have been removing it. When you say “we”, are you working with the subject of the article for financial gain? ScrabbleTiles (talk) 17:51, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No, we do not work for compensation. I work with students. I am retired professor, and retired logging editor here. 98.226.86.66 (talk) 18:53, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The removal of any template was inadvertent, there is no issue regarding the addition of COPYVIO material (or risk of it happening again)—please self-revert your last edit: you removed an hour of conscientious, serious, WP:VERIFY and quality directed editing! 98.226.86.66 (talk) 18:52, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about removing the edits, it was my mistake. You have removed the templates twice now though, it doesn’t appear inadvertent to me. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 18:54, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have reinstated the edits you made. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 18:54, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. We persist in arguing that the tag that was reintroduced is unnecessary, but we leave that, and the article to you. Please do a diff, and see the difference that our attention made to the promotional morass that was present before. 98.226.86.66 (talk) 18:56, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I told the IP on my talk page that the issue is resolved now, and an admin Revision Deleted the copyright infringing version 3 hours ago, but I did not notice, and the Copyvio template should have removed by then, but I thought no admin saw it yet, so I kept on adding it back unintentionally. I believe this was the conflict that arised. Myrealnamm (💬Let's talk · 📜My work) 20:12, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
