Scripts++ Newsletter – Issue 25
Hey there, welcome to the 25th issue of the Wikipedia Scripts++ Newsletter, covering all our favorite new and updated user scripts since 1 March 2024. We've got a ton of wonderful editors taking back their pitchforks today. Don't worry, for they come in peace, to forcibly fix and extend existing scripts you use with sheer passion. There's so many, them forks have got what's basically their own column now! gift us with some rows before it's too late Aaron Liu (talk) 04:00, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
Got anything good? Tell us about your new, improved, old, or messed-up script here!
To a lesser extent, the same goes for PrimeHunter/Search sort. I wish someone would integrate the sorts into the sort menu instead of adding 11 portlet links.
An easily configurable script to add a link to the #p-vector-user-menu-overflow portlet with a name, target, and icon. This one should be a relatively easier one. I would do it myself, but I'm too busy rotting away on Celeste (video game).
After the RIIJ update, Aaron Liu: Watchlyst Greybar Unsin has a dismiss button that allows you to mark an item as read in one click and cycle to the next Watchlist item.
Lordseriouspig/StatusChangerImproved is just like Enterprisey's script, except you select your status from a dropdown instead of cycling through them with a button. The WMF operates out of car-centric infrastructure anyway. Shame!
Newly maintained scripts
Aaron Liu has created Duplinks from Evad37/duplinks-alt; his fork adds a config variable to automatically highlight duplicate links on the loading of any page where the portlet link would've appeared.
Tired of staring at a bunch of filtering text and waiting for darn filter logs to load? Msz2001/AbuseFilter analyzer can parse abuse filters into a visual syntax tree and evaluate locally on-demand!
Polygnotus/DuplicateReferences finds references with the same link and displays the number of them along with a button to add the {{duplicated citations}} tag under the references section. Being lazy has never been easier!
fastest gun on the net Ponor/really-quick-block really quick add to contribution lists three buttons awesome

Hi @Basharat254, welcome to Wikipedia. For doctors, it is important that the person you are writing about meets the criteria on this page. Generally, if they have not published works that have had a significant impact in their respective field, they are not sufficient notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. For general article advice, please see Help:Your first article. Thank you! – Isochrone (talk) 00:58, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
I just resubmitted the page after editing to remove any instances that I thought could be copyright infringement of an interview with Waksberg from the journal Statistical Science. I really hope this passes muster since it's the 5th revision of the page.
If you still see copyright issues, could you please note exactly which sentences are a problem.
@Rstat43 After some changes, I have approved the article. I have removed some very excessively detailed information, and the in-text citations you included (we instead use numbered, indexed citations which they have been replaced with). From what I can tell there are no longer any copyright issues, but in the future please ensure that you use sources completely in your own words, and they in no way have even similar phrasing to the source text.Thank you for your article! – Isochrone (talk) 20:09, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading File:Guilded screenshot 2021.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Hello
I am looking to edit a page about history of bhumihar community in india. The history presented is scarce and biased and also based on rumours and not on the facts which is accepted in the article. I want to learn how to edit it or even if you could do it that would be in great interest of humanity. Because rumours and biased facts are very dangerous in this age and wikipedia is not expected to spread rumours as it has a reputation and people believes in it. --Atulsingh.ind (talk) 10:59, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
Hello Isochrone (sorry if that's not your username, I can't see it in the pop up). I have always loved Wikipedia, and now I finally feel like I have something to contribute. However, I also want to learn how Wikipedia can help me build and model my own knowledge bases and databases. Are you familiar with any such private use? --Sophia Systems (talk) 10:21, 10 August 2024 (UTC)
@Sophia Systems Welcome to Wikipedia. I am confused as to what your use case is. If you want to contribute, Help:Introduction is a helpful guide. What do you mean by "knowledge base"? As in, downloading a copy of Wikipedia, or rather, creating your own "wiki"? – Isochrone (talk) 11:24, 10 August 2024 (UTC)
I have my own registered startup in India how can I make my own wiki page related to it? Please guide me it will help a lot --Finceptcorp (talk) 04:33, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
It’s okay to delete the Template:User Minor template
I don’t feel comfortable having this up on Wikipedia, so the article can be deleted. If it gets my account into trouble, I hope not. I wish to keep adding to Wikipedia daily. Bennett1203 (talk) 23:17, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
