Text and/or other creative content from this version of Template:Efn was copied or moved into incubator:Template:Wp/nod/efn with this edit. The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter page, and it must not be deleted as long as the latter page exists.

On 31 January 2023, it was proposed that this page be moved to Template:Explanatory footnote. The result of the discussion was not moved.

Broken backlink, lost text and no error message if syntax error in {{efn}}

The footnote^[a] {{efn|name=foo|bar=baz more text}} (should be {{efn|name=foo|bar{{=}}baz more text}}) with callout {{efn|name=foo}} produces a line with only the footnote letter and "^" (see below); clicking on the "^" does not jump to the callout. No error message is displayed. This makes it very difficult to correct the error, because there is no indication of which footnote is malformed.

Usage in Arrayprint

@Manifestation and ValenciaThunderbolt: There is no Extension talk: namespace at meta - the page meta:Extension:Arrays doesn't exist, and your post has gone into mainspace. External links within the notes-list

This template no longer works on new edits!!

Neither efn-ua nor efn are working when being added anew to pages / infoboxes. references of this template already existing on older pages continue to work fine. Please help Jnc xavier (talk) 13:53, 5 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
