I wanted to flag a piece that ran in the Guardian this week about HarperCollin's new imprint Monument. In the article, its founder Reni Eddo-Lodge, mentions that she was the first Black British author to reach number 1 in the UK book charts -
This has been fact-checked and corrected by The Guardian because whilst Ms Eddo-Lodge is the first Black British writer to top the UK charts (her primary profession is journalism and writing), JLS are the first Black British authors to reach number 1 in The Sunday Times bestseller lists in January 2010 with their first book Our Story So Far. 103.205.172.112 (talk) 05:21, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
