    Become clairvoyant with Navigation Popups

Here's how to install a nifty little program called Navigation Popups, that lets you peer into Wikipedia articles when you hover the mouse cursor over internal links:

For this to work, make sure you have not disabled javascript in your browser. By the way, Navigation Popups is recursive: it works on links that appear in its popups.

Question from Craftfilmsla (11:06, 30 January 2025)

[edit]

Hi there, Im trying to find the move option from sandbox, which is not really appearing in the tool menu. Can you please help me regarding that? Thank you. --Craftfilmsla (talk) 11:06, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The basic problem is that you only have 3 edits, so your account is not yet WP:Confirmed.
The second thing is that your username suggests that you are closely connected to the topic of your sandbox article, and you have not made a declaration of conflict of interest as far as I can see. (see WP:COI)
If you are receiving any reward for editing or creating the article, for example if you own shares or are employed by the company, you must also declare this. (see WP:PAID)
Please also note that a Wikipedia account may only be used by one person. Your user name may give the impression that it is intended for use by more than one person. If this is the case it will be blocked and you will have to choose another which does not give that impression. (see WP:USERNAMES, WP:ISU, WP:ORGNAME)
Please read and ensure that you comply with the requirements of those policies. They are taken very seriously by Wikipedia · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 12:05, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
yes. ur username says "craftfilmsla" Wikalevi (talk) 06:56, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the rescue, and happy new year 2025! We had, pictured on the Main page, on 14 January Tosca, in memory of her first appearance on stage OTD in 1900, and of principal author Brian Boulton, and today is Schubert's birthday. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:38, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

help for draft

[edit]

i need help adding reliable sources to Draft:De Anza Boulevard. Leonardo da vin (talk) 21:53, 11 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

First you must find reliable sources that establish notability. This is something you should do before starting an article, as without them the article is likely to be deleted. I do not work on road articles, but as you are aware there is Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Streets which specialises in similar topics. I suggest you reach out to them for help. Try leaving a message on the project talk page or approach one of the members directly. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 01:41, 12 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
yes, good idea
I will ask them. Leonardo da vin (talk) 16:56, 12 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from MarkTalukdar (08:27, 19 February 2025)

[edit]

Hi, I need your help. I've added some information, but it seems to be flagged as self-promotional or containing promotional content.

Additionally, when I add citation links, Wikipedia marks them as promotional, blog links, or newsletters, which are not considered reliable sources.

I would really appreciate your guidance on how to properly add citations that meet Wikipedia’s standards. Please let me know how I can fix this.

Thanks & Regards Mark Talukdar --MarkTalukdar (talk) 08:27, 19 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please start by reading Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, Wikipedia:Autobiography, Help:Your first article, Wikipedia:Notability, Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, and Wikipedia:Citing sources. If these do not clear up your confusion feel free to ask for more help. · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 12:01, 19 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

What are talk page archives?

[edit]

What are talk page archives? Leonardo da vin :D (talk|contrib.) 19:48, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

They are subpages of talk pages where old inactive discussions are stored for possible future reference. This can be done manually, or automatically by a bot. · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 03:48, 23 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't add back the clarification tags. The sources just state these facts without explanation. In particular, that state that the seal cornea "tolerates" the lights reflecting off the snow. Thank you. LittleJerry (talk) 04:29, 25 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

This discussion should be on the article talk page, where it can be seen by other people who might wand to know what the text actually means. Lack of sufficient information in a source is something that happens, but asking what the article is intended to mean is a legitimate query, and points out a deficit in the article.
The cornea's tolerance of light reflecting off snow might mean that it is tolerant of UV, which can cause sunburn. That would be meaningful if true, as UV is known to cause photokeratitis, aka "snow blindness" and "arc eye" in welders. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 05:48, 25 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
DOES THAT MEAN IT IS PERSONIFICATION????? Wikalevi (talk) 06:53, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not shout (use all caps) on my talk page, or anywhere else on Wikipedia. It is considered impolite. Also one question mark is sufficient. Also I do not understand your question, If you are hoping for an actual answer you need to make your meaning more clear. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 13:41, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
What i am trying to say is 'has little jerry used personification?' Wikalevi (talk) 06:57, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
and also i didn't know what was going on Wikalevi (talk) 07:23, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps if you ask LittleJerry they would tell you. You may need to provide more context for a cleared question, as I have no idea what you were trying to communicate. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 07:42, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I see. However you may notice that the header to you post states that it was intended as a question. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 07:47, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
But that is because i put it in the mentor question page! >:( Wikalevi (talk) 08:07, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Possibly the fact that it is called the mentor question page should suggest that it is for questions. Cheers, · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 08:11, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Pbsouthwood, i am opting out of mentor ship. Wikalevi (talk) 06:59, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
