Avoiding revert war On Israel-Hamas section

[edit]

I'm attempting to add more recent information about the Israel genocide in Gaza, particularly balancing the claim that sexual violence was widespread by Hamas on October 7th.

I've added (initially) a source that was needing to be gone, due to it's unreliability, per WP:RS, so I found the root citation at Al jazeera.

However, that was also removed. Any steps from here, to ensure a reliable section, without getting into an editing war? 128.205.198.110 (talk) 128.205.198.110 (talk) 15:36, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Balancing the claim ?! It’s the truth. Not a claim. FFS 79.225.124.229 (talk) 06:40, 1 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Misuse of "Vanishing Women" and fabricated rape claims

[edit]

Key points from the book: - British press stories about sepoys raping English girls were likely false and based on distant hearsay (e.g., a clergyman in Bangalore claiming events in Delhi). - There was **no physical evidence** of rape according to historians like Ronald Hyam. - The narratives were symbolic — meant to justify colonial violence and emphasize British moral superiority.

The current article misrepresents the book by using it to **support**, not **critique**, these claims. This violates Wikipedia’s sourcing and neutrality standards. The section should be revised, tagged as dubious, or replaced with content based on reliable historical sources. Aadharsh56 (talk) 10:17, 9 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
