Article issues & Page revamp into one table
[edit]@Cornerstonepicker, Raritydash, and Binh Nguyen Canh: Pinging some of the most active editors of this page (according to the stats anyways) regarding redoing it. This article is a mess for multiple reasons and I decided to redo it as per the new/current(?) standard which is an all-in-one table as can be seen here and here. Many other pages need to be redone but I decided to start with Nicki's page after recently completing converting the BTS page w the help of some other editors. I was unsure who to reach out to for this particular page so hopefully I chose correctly. The main issues with this page:
- References - Many nominations are either totally unsourced or poorly/unreliably sourced.
- Source formatting - tons of missing parameters in the cited references, no consistency in the way citations appear to page viewers, access dates aren't included or updated so no way to know if links are dead or not, very few archived links included etc.
- Awards included - Quite a few awards have no reliable and/or secondary sources to support their inclusion, relying mostly on primary sources, and thus their notability cannot be proven.
- Award names - I put Marie Claire Prix du/Los Premios under P, The Boombox/The Record under T but I am not sure if I sorted them correctly. Can anyone clarify?
That being said, I did not remove any of the awards already listed from the article. I simply redid the page (excluding the topbox because no matter how I tried to recode the awards box it wouldn't display as a box but just a massive paragraph of text) in my sandbox and would like to get your thoughts on the revamp. I have only completed source reviews up to the Billboard Women in Music section of the table and quite a few nominations need citations but currently all are perfectly formatted (error msgs in the Ref section are due to template updates being implemented across WP and not any error on my part). I'll continue working my way through the rest of it until I've finished sourcing and formatting everything. Any award/nom that cannot be reliably backed up by secondary sources will need to be completely removed as leaving them in would not make the list encyclopedic. The final award/nom count will likely change because of this. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 22:17, 3 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Raritydash and Binh Nguyen Canh: reaching out to you guys again regarding the redoing of Nicki's page into the all-in-one table format. I have already done a total revamp in my sandbox and would welcome your thoughts. I don't want to go ahead and make such a major change to the page without first hearing from its most active editors so I hope you will reply to me. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 16:37, 27 January 2020 (UTC)
Criteria
[edit]In order to be included, we need reliable independent secondary sources, not including obvious press releases. Not links to the groups making the award, not blogs, but reliable sources that are clearly independent of the awarding body that establish the significance of the award. Major uncited additions to the article
[edit]@Mamun Al Jawad and @Gooddayinmymind, since you're the two editors primarily involved in this dispute - I would love to bring an end to this slow edit war.
Citations are not optional, especially when adding so many potentially non-notable ones. The burden to provide citations falls upon the person adding the information to the article. I would be happy to help look for some once I'm in a computer as opposed to my phone, but this has to come to an end sooner rather than later. The amount of times uncited information has been inserted and taken out of the article borders on disruptive, so let's come to a nice clean solution here rather than duking it out on the article. :) Jellyfish (mobile) (talk) 18:58, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- Again, thank you very much for helping to stop this :), the user @Mamun Al Jawad has been making disruptive edits since 2022 and in May 2022 he had already been in an edit war with user Schazjmd, who put warnings on Mamun's profile, however, he continued to make disruptive edits. Gooddayinmymind (talk) 19:20, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- On May 17, 2022, @Mamun Al Jawad changed the total wins (from 175 to 315) without explanation or citations to support the disruptive edit. Schazjmd reverted this edit four times for "false info", however, he stopped reviewing it and the disruptive edit remained for years. Gooddayinmymind (talk) 19:28, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- Although the win total was fixed, it wasn't completely.
- On August 10, 2023, Mamun Al Jawad made another disruptive edit, inflating the win total from 235 to 413 (the nominations were also inflated, from 496 to 601). This time, the disruptive edit wasn't reverted, and it remained in place until I reverted it (almost two years). Gooddayinmymind (talk) 19:37, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- When I saw the disruptive edit, the win total indicated 477 wins, when the article listed fewer than 225.
- So this article has had misinformation since 2022 due to Mamun Al Jawad's disruptive edits Gooddayinmymind (talk) 19:46, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- That's not the only thing Mamun Al Jawad has done, Mamun added 20 ASCAP awards knowing that Nicki Minaj is not credited on them because she is affiliated with BMI, those disruptive edits had already been reverted previously, but he added them four times (and they were all unsourced).
- He also added 19 awards from an unknown blog with absurd categories and, again, unsourced. When he did it, he changed the total win (from 211 to 450), making another disruptive edit and inflating the number of wins
- This article is constantly visited by Nicki Minaj fans and has been used as a source for her total awards, which is why his disruptive edits have gone viral. Gooddayinmymind (talk) 20:06, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Mamun Al Jawad, pinging you once again. You should still be able to use the talk page on this article in spite of the partial block from the article itself. Jellyfish (mobile) (talk) 18:14, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for your help! The article is now free of disruptive editing. :) Gooddayinmymind (talk) 05:40, 9 May 2025 (UTC)

Good Day/evening, I would like to submit this request to have Nicki's awards count fixed to 449, according to several sourced she had 447 awards, now she won two awards at the 2025 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards for her songs "FTCU" and "Everybody" featuring Lil Uzi Vert.
I am not sure if that can count to her Wikipedia page because I don't see a category for ASCAP. But just incase Nicki Minaj received 40 ASCAP awards across various categories including Pop and Rhythm & Soul, as noted in sources detailing her accolades
If there is a chance to apply as an editor I would appreciate if you accept me also as a moderator or staff member for her page as I am a dedicated stan. And I would like to protect her page from vandalism. Firstbarb (talk) 20:46, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
Nicki is not credited for those awards as she is affiliated with BMI, in the "Major uncited additions to the article" section, I proved how Nicki hasn't won over 200 notable awards and how a guy called Mamun Al Jawad in 2022 started inflating the awards from 175 to 315, and then from 235 to 413, and then some people inflated it up to 500, i'm sorry if you thought it was true. Also, there's no vandalism, i'm actually protecting the page as you can see in the "revision history" section. Gooddayinmymind (talk) 21:50, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
- And it is not true, the lie about Nicki Minaj having won more than 250 awards started here (since this page had no protection) as I just told you, and from here it spread to social media where posts indicated that, the reality is that no reliable source has claimed it nor have any page proved even 275 awards. So it is misinformation. Thank you.

Hello! I’d like to propose an update to the total number of awards and nominations listed for Nicki Minaj. The current figures on the page appear outdated.
Proposed edit: As of July 2025, Nicki Minaj has received approximately 444 awards from 658 nominations. These include accolades from major institutions such as the American Music Awards, BET Awards, Billboard Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, and MTV Europe Music Awards. She has also received 12 Grammy nominations to date, though she has not yet won one.[1][2][3] Barbromanoff (talk) 21:43, 15 July 2025 (UTC)

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. I'm not seeing a count of either 444 or 658 in any of the three sources. Also note the second one is a wikipedia mirror so is not a valid source. IMDB is a questionable source. meamemg (talk) 14:47, 16 July 2025 (UTC)
