confusion note

[edit]

Hi, how do I add the little note at the top of a page that says "not to be confused with" etc? I found a page that needs it. thanks! Electricmemory (talk) 23:05, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Electricmemory! Try this template and let me know if you have any questions! Just out of curiosity, how did you find me, haha? Cheers, GoldRomean (talk) 01:27, 22 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I've done some digging and found some other templates I wanted to use as well. I found you as you're listed as my "mentor" on my home page. Electricmemory (talk) 21:07, 26 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Haha that's weird since I listed myself as inactive as I'm actually taking an indefinite WikiBreak... don't worry about it though - I'm always happy to help. Though if I don't respond for a while apologies in advance and try out the Teahouse. Welcome! GoldRomean (talk) 23:04, 26 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Well, your name is on my homepage saying that. Odd. Thanks for your help! Electricmemory (talk) 19:28, 28 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from YaYaYaRaiser (17:16, 15 February 2025)

[edit]

How do I edit! --YaYaYaRaiser (talk) 17:16, 15 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia! You can edit most pages just by clicking "edit". Some pages may be protected, and you may not be able to edit them until you reach a certain number of edits/account age. Hope that helps! Cheers, GoldRomean (talk) 22:35, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from MS PIKIPIKI POINT (12:59, 16 February 2025)

[edit]

Hello how can i create my business in wikipedia? --MS PIKIPIKI POINT (talk) 12:59, 16 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome! It is generally not recommended to write about your own business, since it may present a conflict of interest and there may be notability concerns. Let me know if you have any more questions! GoldRomean (talk) 22:37, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Uggupuggu on Help:User contributions (07:05, 22 February 2025)

[edit]

Where do I find articles that are in most need of editing? I can't seem to find that section. --Uggupuggu (talk) 07:05, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, and welcome! I don't believe that there is a specific "list" of articles most needing editing. However, some places to find articles to improve could be start or stub-class articles, articles which need copyediting, and newer articles! Hope that helps. Cheers, GoldRomean (talk) 22:45, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from TonyZ1 (06:51, 24 February 2025)

[edit]

Hello, please help me understand why my Wikipedia page was deleted? How to I undelete? --TonyZ1 (talk) 06:51, 24 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) It looks like you haven't created any pages, let alone made any other edits. Pages on Wikipedia can be deleted for any number of reasons, mostly because they might not meet the notability guidelines for inclusion on Wikipedia. Pages can only be deleted (and restored) by administrators, which neither you, me, or the owner of this talk page are. Hope this helps! Aydoh8[contribs] 06:55, 24 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Cliffordthecat586748y (21:45, 26 February 2025)

[edit]

Hello how can you create your own page about something? --Cliffordthecat586748y (talk) 21:45, 26 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I highly recommend gaining some experience on Wikipedia before trying to create your own page, but you can check this out. Make sure that your topic is notable and covered by lots of reliable sources: and try to avoid conflicts of interest. Welcome to Wikipedia! Feel free to let me know if you hvae questions. Question from Accurate NYC (21:54, 26 February 2025)

[edit]

What to do with a citation that the link doesn't work anymore and and the information requires another link? --Accurate NYC (talk) 21:54, 26 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia! While I'm not specifically sure what you mean, perhaps you mean that the link is broken? In that case, you could try to find an archived version of it or find another source to cite! In the future, Internet Archive Bot is helpful for preventing link rot.
Feel free to contact me with any other questions! Disclaimer though, I'm not a super expert in citation stuff so you might want to consider the friendly people at the Teahouse.
PS: You might want to consider joining WikiProject NYC, a group of editors interested in improving coverage of NYC! For a larger/more active WikiProject, you might want to also check out WikiProject United States.

Question from Simononwiki1 (21:47, 1 March 2025)

[edit]

Hi, I want to edit a new page on Adam Linder. He is a famous choregraph that already has various article on national newspapers. I wanted to upload a picture of him through wikimedia commons, and I was spamed by the antiparasite bot. But me and his team had sent a mail to wikimedia to release the right to use the file. Is everything else that I can do ? Thanks for your help Simon --Simononwiki1 (talk) 21:47, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, I don't think there is much but to await WikiMedia's response. In the meantime, you can continue working on your article and feel free to let me know with further questions. Or, possibly, get Linder/his team to release the photograph into the public domain. (By the way, you were not "spammed" by the bot, haha.)
Out of curiosity, why are you working on your page in the French Wikipedia? Since it is written in English, perhaps this Wiki would be better.
Also - friendly reminder about Wikipedia's paid articles and conflict of interest regulations, which require that you declare conflicts of interest and/or being paid to write an article if that is the case.
Cheers, and welcome! GoldRomean (talk) 01:37, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
