  • What I think should be changed (format using {{textdiff}}):

Section under Legacy is a copy of the header:

A controversial figure in Israel, she has been lionized as a founder of the state and described as the "Iron Lady" of Israeli politics, but also widely blamed for the country being caught by surprise during the 1973 Yom Kippur War. She was also criticized for her dismissive statements towards the Palestinians.[6]"

but has fewer citations and seems like a less polished version. I don't feel that it adds anything, maybe can pull?

  • Why it should be changed: Brevity, clarity, maintability
  • References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button):

In the After premiership and death (1974–1978) section, in the third paragraph, after the first sentence, please add that she had been hospitalized since August for a back ailment. Please also add before the first sentence that she had been suffering from lymphoma for over 12 years. https://www.nytimes.com/1978/12/09/archives/golda-meir-80-dies-in-jerusalem-israelis-acclaim-stalwart-lioness.html 2600:387:F:6C19:0:0:0:B (talk) 19:49, 9 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: The enduring relevance or notability of this information is unclear to me, as the given source is a breaking news piece published on 9 Dec 1978, the day after the subject's death. Perception312 (talk) 01:49, 14 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please remove: "In addition, her dismissive statements towards the Palestinians were widely scorned"

Reason: linked source does not support this claim

In the lead there is a line "In addition, her dismissive statements towards the Palestinians were widely scorned'. This line is not supported in the linked source whatsoever. The source does not at any point discuss any of Golda Meir's statements towards Palestinians. This line should be removed if there is no source for it.

The same line is also repeated in the legacy section 'She was also criticized for her dismissive statements towards the Palestinians' with the same source. This should be removed as well if there is no source for it. Lavipao (talk) 07:17, 13 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I have aligned the lead with the article body. As for the Times of Israel (JTA) source used in the legacy section, it says "scorned for her dismissive statements about Palestinians" in the 2nd paragraph. Out of interest, what do you think caused your error? Sean.hoyland (talk) 09:33, 13 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
