Krakow Post

[edit]

I was reading the Krakow Post the other day, when I came across an interesting article on Polandball.

How Polandball can of taking over the internets

Hope this is useful for improving the article. All the best: Rich Farmbrough14:56, 22 May 2015 (UTC).

We have to talk

[edit]

A message addressed to Wikipedians who frequently edit this page.

Being a Polandball fan at heart allows me to have certain advantages that Wikipedians (hereinafter: "they") do not have. First, they edit this page, but there is something called Polandball Rules, and unfortunately I have them I have to report that one of those images breaks these rules. It is the graffiti image shown in the article. First, Russia has eyebrows. That breaks the rules. Ukraine and the EU hold arms. Balls don't have arms. It's really stupid to think that Ukraine also has a mouth and tongue and hair. We are talking about a super danger that forces me to nominate it for deletion.

It's time to teach them that what really matters about Polandball are its rules (although we know that such controversial variants as Countryhumans have emerged from them, but leave it unimportant). Any questions about Polandball, its rules and its stereotypes, comment in my discussion.

I believe the image in question needs to stay because it shows Countryballs' presence in the popular culture and the use of Countryballs in the political discourse. Polandball rules have no application in this case. –Vipz (talk) 02:10, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I know, but on Wikimedia Commons there are many images and maybe you will find an image that meets these rules. I will be looking for an image: Note, Each rule is determined by the Polandball Wiki of each language, Therefore, we should follow the rules of Polandball Wiki English, and on the Spanish Wikipedia we would have to put images that comply with the rules of Wiki Polandball Hispana (WPH), There are some rules that apply to all Wiki Polandball, For example, Serbiaball must wear a patch, hate "kebab" (that is, Islam) and if the author wants an accordion.
I hope it's understood, and I don't want to argue with users from a wiki other than the one I come from (literally I come from WPH) That Argentinian on da' corner (talk) 21:38, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I recommend that you read this tutorial and if you want, take a look at a Polandball Wiki.

Shouldn't we add the 'First Polandball comic' to the origin instead of that wikipedia comic created by Greyhood. It makes more sense to add what most people consider the first polandball comic rather than a comic made some years after polandball first started? Thegoofhere (talk) 20:11, 19 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I think it should be about which comic came first and not a full section dedicated to one comic. I have contacted some very old people of the Polandball community and most of which said that there wasn't any backstory on the famous ice cream comic, one said that it was at that time when Polandball became more than just to make fun of Wojak when this comic was made. Evidence that Polandball actually was created in September.

[edit]

I have an archive of alot of old Polandball stuff and checking by metadata, I found one image that date all the way back to 30 September 2009. Sure, the image doesn't look like Falco's art style and has polandball the right way up, but it is certainly good evidence but the only evidence that I know of since all of the possible contenders of being the oldest polandball comic have their metadata rewritten.

Yes, I am aware that using KnowYourMeme as a source is taboo on Wikipedia, but I think there is some validity to this image:

  1. If you download the image and check the date included within the metadata, it displays it as "30/09/2009", if you can't find that specific date, try using a metadata extractor.
  2. The original uploader's account was created in January 16 2010 and his only images was about Polandball with in the first months of the account.

Nice research, should I edit the history section to just say "September"? 🇺🇸Thegoofhere🇺🇸 (talk) 01:41, 18 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
yes, I did edit it but I had second thoughts on if I should remove the citation as I wasn't sure if this was a good idea.
Also October 15th 2009 was the day when the flags on the /int/ board was changed to be Polandball-themed if I recall correctly, but I can't find any sources aside from this Polandball iceberg which's source came from the Lurkmore wiki:
