Colony
[edit]@JArthur1984: China was not a colony of Japan, China was a country at war with Japan, those are very different things. Marcocapelle (talk) 12:35, 29 March 2025 (UTC)
- After the Unequal treaties, Japan also began extracting semi-colonial privileges from China. It increasingly stepped into the European colonial positions as World War I meant European colonial power in East Asia decreased. From 1931-1932, Japan invaded Manchuria. Japan established its puppet state of Manchukuo. It began its full scale invasion in the Second Sino-Japanese War and established more puppet states like Wang Jingwei regime. Throughout this period of the Japanese colonial empire, it extracted Chinese resources for the benefit of the metropole.
- You may just not know enough about this period yet. JArthur1984 (talk) 23:50, 29 March 2025 (UTC)
- @JArthur1984: puppet states aren't colonies either. Marcocapelle (talk) 13:48, 30 March 2025 (UTC)
