Bilateral sensitive issues

[edit]

@ChenV99: Which of Japan's concerns should be mentioned in this section? Jarble (talk) 15:18, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Colony

[edit]

@JArthur1984: China was not a colony of Japan, China was a country at war with Japan, those are very different things. Marcocapelle (talk) 12:35, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

After the Unequal treaties, Japan also began extracting semi-colonial privileges from China. It increasingly stepped into the European colonial positions as World War I meant European colonial power in East Asia decreased. From 1931-1932, Japan invaded Manchuria. Japan established its puppet state of Manchukuo. It began its full scale invasion in the Second Sino-Japanese War and established more puppet states like Wang Jingwei regime. Throughout this period of the Japanese colonial empire, it extracted Chinese resources for the benefit of the metropole.
You may just not know enough about this period yet. JArthur1984 (talk) 23:50, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
