If anyone is interested, a discussion has been started at Talk:Christianity to discuss changing the lead image of the article. Anyone is welcome to participate. If consensus is not reached within WikiProject Christianity, a broader RfC might be in order. 🌳 Balsam Cottonwood (talk) ✝ 04:28, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New editor needs help

[edit]

Looking at [1] I see numerous problems, including misunderstanding of dab pages, some OR, etc. See alsp Draft:Indian Christian Unity Forum. His user page sis an autobiography, which of course is not how userpages are meant to be used. Clearly a good faith keen editor. Doug Weller talk 16:25, 2 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I want to start contributing new material to our articles on books of the Bible, and I would strongly prefer sticking to the NRSVue when appropriate. Does anyone know precisely whether the NCC/Friendship Press's copyright policy, as regards to the "up to 500 verses with attribution" etc.[2] license, is compatible with direct inline quotation in articles? I'm not sure, even though it seems like it should be straightforward. Remsense đŸŒˆ èźș 12:07, 7 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, all. A user is making substantial edits to Schism of the Russian Church, an article which has passed GA review. The edits seem to be well-placed so far, but I would like to invite editors with a better understanding of Russian and/or Eastern Orthodox religious history to keep an eye on it, especially since the editor has expressed an interest in re-writing the entire page. An extra set of eyes would be appreciated! ThaesOfereode (talk) 23:12, 30 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, interesting! I'll drop by sometime soon. Thanks for the heads up, ThaesOfereode. ~ Pbritti (talk) 23:50, 30 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Sophia the Martyr - same person as Sophia of Rome?

[edit]

Sophia the Martyr is one of the top redlinked women with articles in many non-English Wikipedias (see Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Number of links. But there is a page for Sophia of Rome who was also a martyr. Are they the same person? If not it'd be great to have an English page for the 2nd century Sophia, but is "Sophia the Martyr" the appropriate name for a page about her? I see many different names are used in other Wikipedias. Here are the two Wikidata pages for the two Sophias, and links to the many Wikipedia articles for each in different languages are near the bottom of the page: Sophia the Martyr (Q15916381) and Sophia of Rome (Q462596).
