This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.
If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none
parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

Template edit needed
[edit]Can someone please edit {{Canadian party colour|BC|Labor-Progressive|row-name}} so that the row name produced is actually Labor-Progressive instead of Labour Progressive? In the mid-20th century spelling labour without a u - as labor - was actually considered progressive (which is why we have the Australian Labor Party instead of the Australian Labour Party even though Australia otherwise uses -our suffixes). Accordingly, the Labor-Progressive Party in Canada and British Columbia spelled its name without a 'u'. I can't figure out how to fix the mistake in the BC LPP row name. What is "private MLA"?
[edit]In the bio of a former Alberta MLA, a subsection is headed "2008 Election, private MLA (2008-2010)". The broader section heading is "Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta" so the meaning of "MLA" is clear, but the part about "private" isn't explained. If there is such a thing, it should be demystified. Thanks! JamesMLane t c 00:33, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- It sounds like someone is misapplying the term "private member" as in private member's bill to mean backbencher. Wellington Bay (talk) 02:16, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for your fix to the article! JamesMLane t c 02:38, 4 November 2024 (UTC)

Dissolution of Parliament
[edit]Now that Parliament is dissolved, all the people whose pages described them as incumbent members are no longer so. For the British general election last year I devised this template to put on their pages during the dissolution period as a disclaimer against any inaccuracies this caused, to save us the trouble of going through them all at the beginning (and again at the end) of the campaign. I have now created something similar for the election which is just beginning.
![]() | This article's subject is standing for re-election to the Canadian House of Commons on 28th April, and has not been an MP since the dissolution of Parliament on 23 March. This article may be out of date during this period. |
The text can, of course, be centrally updated as necessary at different stages of the election timeline. Robin S. Taylor (talk) 19:53, 23 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Robin, I reply your topic in this talk page :) Haers6120 (talk) 01:12, 24 March 2025 (UTC)

The article North American Labour Party has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Tagged as Unreferenced and unimproved for 15 and 1/2 years. No other language has a reliably sourced article from which to translate. This political party's share of the vote is a rounding error. WP:SOAP.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Bearian (talk) 03:33, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
- I currently see North American Labour Party as a redirect to Party for the Commonwealth of Canada. Were you looking to PROD the redirect, or the PCC article? Bkissin (talk) 13:43, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
