The World Destubathon

You are invited to participate in The World Destubathon. It's currently planned for June 16-July 13, partly due to me having hayfever during that period and not wanting to run it throughout July or August in the hotter summer and will be run then unless multiple editors object. There is currently $3338 going into it, with $500 the top prize. Please help select images from UNRWA from the war on Gaza to upload to Wikipedia

Hi all

UNRWA have professional photojournalists in Gaza documenting what is happening and have again agreed to share some photographs with Wikipedia and have asked me to make a selection. I have created a document here to collate requests from the community, I think we can chose around 200 images in total from their 4000 images of Gaza over the past two years. Please have a look and make requests in the doc, all the instructions are in there, if anything doesn't make sense please ping me here.

Historical Photos?

I've been trying to increase Wikipedia's coverage of events taking place inside the OPT during the 1970s and 1980s since Wikipedia's current coverage of that time period seems a little lacking, and mostly focused on military actions in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but there also seems to not be a lot of images/illustrations on Wikimedia Commons from that time period. Is there any way to find/add more? Is the Palestine Poster Project Archives a source that we could use (I see, for example, that this poster has been added to Wikimedia Commons - if I'm understanding that upload correctly, would a poster like this one or this one be okay to upload?)? And if anyone has any other ideas for how to improve Wikipedia coverage during that time period, I'd love to hear! NHCLS (talk) 06:57, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
