Hummus
[edit]There is no mention of Palestine, whereas the culture appropriation of this dish makes it appear that it is an essential part of Israeli cuisine. 75 years ago Jews had never heard of it. Donnadentist (talk) 03:23, 23 February 2025 (UTC)

Abubaker Abed
[edit]Hi, the article about Abubaker Abed was deleted under CS5 Speedy deletion because it was created by a sockpuppet. Nevertheless the subject is certainly notable so I was wondering if anyone would like to create a new article about him? I'm a bit rusty on content creation myself, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 20:33, 17 March 2025 (UTC)

Mohamed Hadid article
[edit]Hi, a clear consensus on whether we should include Mohamed Hadid's national identity (Palestinian) in the article's infobox is needed. A relevant discussion can be found here. Thanks in advance! Thedarkknightli (talk) 00:16, 20 March 2025 (UTC)
- Leave article as is. First we need to note that already Hadid's article has in the lead that he "is an American real estate developer of Palestinian [an Arab ethnonational group, not a country] origin", in the Early life section that "Hadid was born into a Palestinian Muslim family", "a major religion in Palestine [the Palestine (region), not a country], being the religion of the majority of the Palestinian population" (an ethnonational group, not a country), and I added as the first line in the Personal life section with a ref that "Hadid identifies as an American-Palestinian" (an ethnonational group). As to using the "Nationality" parameter in the Infobox, per WP:INFONAT: "In biographies, a |nationality= field should not be used." That is a clear Wikipedia dictate and Wikipedia precept, and cannot be changed here. As to his citizenship, it is already listed as "US (naturalized)" and "Jordan". Since he was born in Nazareth, possibly he could be an Israeli citizen, but Nazareth is clearly in Israel and clearly outside of the boundaries of the State of Palestine, a country recognized by many countries, but not the US, et al. (see, this map and this map). There are no refs that I have found so far specifically stating or specifically confirming that Hadid became a citizen of the State of Palestine, rather he is a Palestinian, a member of "an Arab ethnonational group native to the region of Palestine" (this being the Wikilink of the Palestine (region), not a country). The article already emphasizes that he is a member of the ethnonational group, Palestinians, and the Infobox must not be changed or annotated without at least one reliable source to add another country (and not a region or ethnonational group per WP:INFONAT).
