Reverts

[edit]

Hello,

You reverted my edits of Hamaderakōen Station and Suwanomori Station. The reason you cited, lack of sources, is not a sufficient reason to revert (see WP:RV): unless you had doubts about the veracity of the information, you should have used "citation needed" for that (see WP:CITENEED).

I should have said so in the edit comments, but I took the details from the Japanese version of the articles, where the data is sourced, but it was a quick edit in a hurry, leaving the archiving & translation of citations for later. But I wasn't even lowering the quality of the articles as they are mostly unsourced anyway. Rontombontom (talk) 08:25, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your explanation. It puts a lot into perspective. XtraJovial (talkcontribs) 22:48, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Need input

[edit]

Hi, I know that you are one of the only active editors routinely editing in WP:TIJ areas, and considering the talk page is effectively useless currently, I wanted to directly ask you for input. The article for Shibuya Station mentions redevelopments and the changes in platform locations multiple times, and while it is ideal for all those to be merged into a single part somewhere, I'm not entirely sure if the mention of those projects belongs in the "History" section or the "Station layout" subsections. Hi there. I'm inclined to believe these details might be better off as part of the History section, just because I've always viewed station layout sections as being for the station's most recent platform layout. XtraJovial (talkcontribs) 01:35, 13 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, thanks. I'm looking at Wikipedia:WikiProject Trains in Japan/Popular pages (I don't think anyone else except for myself was aware of this page's existence, so now someone else is aware of this) right now, and I don't find the top entries that surprising. However, I found that a lot of those articles are in need of cleanup and expansion, or are simply underrated (a C class tagged as start, you know...).

You know, I really find TIJ's scope of over 10,000 articles too much to routinely maintain with a Wikiproject that has near-zero attention outside TIJ contributors (meaning unlike something like Manga&Anime, we don't get a good share of interested newcomers or fresh people being bold), and with a Wikiproject of around 30 editors including one that edits a few times a month or something. I do not (want to) consider the Wikiproject defunct or inactive since a group of active editors still exist here, but I feel like TIJ is trying to handle so much more than we can realistically since the inception of this project.
