PakEditor, you are invited to the Teahouse!

Teahouse logo

Hi PakEditor! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia.
Be our guest at the Teahouse! The Teahouse is a friendly space where new editors can ask questions about contributing to Wikipedia and get help from experienced editors like Worm That Turned (talk).

We hope to see you there!

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Lahore Fort, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sheesh Mahal (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:10, 25 April 2018 (UTC)

Control copyright icon Hello PakEditor, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Tourism in Sindh have been removed, as they appear to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:18, 3 May 2018 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Ilyasi Mosque

Hello, PakEditor. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Ilyasi Mosque".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. DannyS712 (talk) 09:16, 9 February 2019 (UTC)

Edit warring

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.

Already warned you before,[1] this is second time you are getting the warning.

People have better things to do and edit than entertain your WP:IDHT forever. You failed to convince people to support your version, now get over it. Content is afterall reliably sourced, so there should be least concern.

There is also a section on talk page where you can respond instead of edit warring. ML talk 15:17, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi MSLQr. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Beeblebrox (talk) 21:56, 29 October 2019 (UTC)

Request to temporarily block user

Hey, this is to inform you that this user Raju7msathi, is continuously spamming and degrading this article. I have left warnings on their talk page but they keep vandalizing by adding unrelated images. Can you rollback the recent edits made by them as it's difficult to undo them manually. 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝟐𝟎𝟒𝟖 14:43, 18 November 2024 (UTC)

@Wallflower2048 oh, I was busy at the moment. Thanks for reaching here. However, I don't see vandalism there by the user as now I consider for me, my revert for the edit was not fair upto some extent. I only meant to undo the unsourced addition of text "Capital of Chettinad" as official name in the settlement's infobox. I think I would have reverted it with edit summary of unsourced changes instead. Plus, the user added/replaced images, which are not vandalism or disruptive at least as the images appear to be related with notable structures in the city. Listen, if you still consider the user or any other user as vandal, please carefully read vandalism details and then reach WP:AIV in order to report the users doing vandalism. (You can also use Twinkle, an easy tool for reverting vandalism, bad faith edits and for reporting vandals). Thanks :) MSLQr (talk) 16:38, 18 November 2024 (UTC)

Reversion of reversion requested

Hello, over the past couple of days, I have made significant edits to the page Jeffrey Vitter, which is about my professional career, to address questions raised several months ago about needing supporting references for the statements on the page and a more factual tone. I made edits to handle those concerns and to make the page factual, accurate, and documented, as mentioned in the revision history notes. What was written on the page before you reverted it is factual. If there are particular concerns about any of the reverted facts on the page, please let me know. I would appreciate having the page returned to the state it was before your reverted it, as everything on it was accurate. Thank you for your time. JeffVitter (talk) 21:05, 17 November 2024 (UTC)

There is a message at your talk page by an admin. Please see your talk page. Thanks. MSLQr (talk) 16:40, 20 November 2024 (UTC)

Regarding the inclusion of the Prime Minister of India

If the reason to include the Prime Minister of Canada, is that he represents North America, that is perfectly fair. However, since there are three countries from Europe, that have been included, while there is only one from Asia. So, it has been duly amended. 112.134.218.58 (talk) 05:43, 4 December 2024 (UTC)

Buni

Sorry MSLQr, my edit summary at Buni was poor.
When faced with a list, such as those schools, some editors will just remove those without articles - which in this case would be all of them.
Others, including me, add wikilinks, sort the blues and reds, and add a clean-up list template above the redlinks. If they are still redlinks in say 6 months, or a year, I will then remove them with an edit summary like "Rm NN entries tagged since (date)". This allows time for editors to create articles, and (usually) avoids arguments when they are removed - best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 18:38, 14 December 2024 (UTC)

@Arjayay, No, its okay. The edit summary was not poor at all. I never mind. I just preferred removing the links early per WP:NN, WP:ORGSIG and WP:REDNO rather than keeping the redlinks. Sometimes, redlinks lead to the creation of articles with no sources which got speedily deleted or the stuff remained left over for years on this encyclopedia. This also increases work for the other editors. Thanks for further clarification regarding the template. MŠLQr (talk) 05:34, 15 December 2024 (UTC)

Pakistan Paindabad

@MSLQr:, If Pakistan Navy have 30,000 personnel then how can Pakistan Air Force have 70,000 personnel? Please provide reliable source regarding this. Hamwal (talk) 02:24, 19 January 2025 (UTC)

Do you think this removed text could be easily sourced? All the best: Rich Farmbrough 18:53, 29 January 2025 (UTC).

Umm, its time taking...sources can be found. The text can be retrieved to the article with proper textual changes and arrangement as the sites meet the subject. Will look into it in near future. By the way, thanks for this mention. MŠLQr (talk) 19:08, 29 January 2025 (UTC)

I saw your revert request for the article title because it was moved without discussion, typically these would simply be speedily reverted, however, even a cursory look seems to suggest that even if it were reverted, an ensuing formal RM would snow close because it seems to meet the criteria of WP:NAMECHANGES. Is there a specific reason you believe the official name change is controversial? I have no problem doing it if it would result in a long-term stable change, but I just see it adding a bunch of unnecessary bureaucracy to rename the article right now. What am I overlooking? Thanks!

@Tiggerjay: the previous title, Malir Expressway by which the road is known for, follows WP:UCRN plus neutrality, and was long-standing for more than four years. However, if the current title, Shahrah-e-Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto (that lit.'Expressway of Martyr Zulfikar Ali Bhutto') is concerned, it is uncommon and non-neutral, politically applied name used by the party members of Pakistan Peoples Party who call it after Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. The party is famous for renaming places as they did it in the past also, like Shaheed Benazirabad District, Benazir Bhutto International Airport. Also, the user who moved, has also some record of failed attempts to such controversial moves without any discussions, see this & this. Because of this behaviour an admin @Rosguill: was forced to ban this user from Nawabshah & Benazirabad articles. MŠLQr (talk) 16:59, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for that reply, it seems like Bensci54 has already reverted it, thanks for the explanation and that makes sense. TiggerJay(talk) 22:18, 10 February 2025 (UTC)

Hey can you help me

A random user is going around adding incorrect information over Pakistani articles Qaiser-i-Mashriq (talk) 17:36, 14 February 2025 (UTC)

Rather than WP:CANVASSING users to back you up in disputes, discuss and gain consensus for an issue on the specific talk pages of articles. Been here a while to not be random, though a user barely months old jumping into contentious IPA topics doesn't really bode well for your case. Gotitbro (talk) 17:53, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
discuss and gain consensus for an issue on the specific talk pages of articles rather than edit warring and removing every mention of a country you don't like to confirm your real life biases -_- Qaiser-i-Mashriq (talk) 20:47, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
Ridiculous personal attack and the latter assertion is absurd considering that is exactly what you been engaging in. I would gravely advice you to step back from contentious topic areas if as basic a policy as WP:BRD and WP:NPOV are seemingly unfamiliar to you. Gotitbro (talk) 06:42, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
Personal attack?, it's all what you have been doing, stay away from contentious topics Qaiser-i-Mashriq (talk) 07:00, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
Read WP:PERSONALATTACK ("Comment on content, not on the contributor."), personally attributing editors rather than addressing the edits themselves is what constitutes it. Repeating back my assertions of policy is not going to make your case any stronger. I don't believe I ever engaged with you or addressed you directly before (until your unexplained reverts [without any edit summaries] came up). The assumption of WP:BADFAITH is entirely your own. Since the user here is entirely uninvolved I am not going to continue this discussion further on this page. Gotitbro (talk) 07:21, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
