- Thank you for your guidance! This movie had several reviews at that time including positive critical accolades in Ukraine. But this movie was made in Ukraine and candidly depicted despicable working conditions in the Soviet Union and drastic failures of Moscow leadership. Ukrainian sources are harder to reach now. Two Moscow based reviews are rather long, and both are available online. A brief summary of each is now added to the article. Any support in editing is very much appreciated. - Two articles on this movie already exist in Ukrainian[1] and Russian[2] wikipedia, and this English article is the third one about the same movie. How all three may be made connected? Can you help, or guide me by showing how you do it and thus helping me in learning how to connect articles about the same subject in different languages? Regards, Kotofski (talk) 03:41, 16 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Kotofski
- There are a few things to consider
- · There is no requirement that articles in disparate languages about the same topic be linked in any way. There is not, however, any prohibition (that I am aware of) against doing so, either.
- · If you feel that an article could benefit from the contents of the same article in another language, but do not feel comfortable in translating it yourself, you can place, at the top of the article (but after the "short description") the template: {{Expand Ukrainian|Відповідна міра|date=January 2025}} and/or: {{Expand Russian|Ответная мера|date=January 2025}} — Detailed instructions on their use can found here Template:Expand Ukrainian and Template:Expand Russian. However, if you do not intend on bringing-over information from one or both of these articles, these may not be the best choice.
- · Alternatively, if you simply wish to link the articles to one another, I suppose you could create a "See also" section and add:
Countermeasure (Russian Wikipedia)"
Countermeasure (Ukrainian Wikipedia)
These are created as follows:
[[:ru:Ответная мера|''Countermeasure'']] (Russian Wikipedia)[[:uk:Відповідна міра|''Countermeasure'']] (Ukrainian Wikipedia) - · Otherwise, you may consult Help:Interlanguage links for further instructions. There are a few other ways to execute interlagauge-Wikilinks.
- · If you’d like to give it a try on the Countermeasure article, I will check it over when you’ve done so and make any corrections.
Cheers, and good work on the article! MWFwiki (talk) 06:36, 16 January 2025 (UTC) - Dear MWFwiki, thank you for such an informative and helpful guidance! It is a pleasure to follow such a good leader who leads by own example. I copied your proposed samples into the Countermeasure article, and it worked well! Your expert advise is always very much appreciated. Respectfully, Kotofski (talk) 18:51, 16 January 2025 (UTC)
