There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}}
on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.
Please remember to:
- Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the
button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes
~~~~
at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp. - Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
KylieTastic (talk) 10:24, 29 January 2025 (UTC)Elizabeth Waller moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Elizabeth Waller, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Theroadislong (talk) 16:20, 18 February 2025 (UTC)Annie Hadley moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Annie Hadley. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because It needs better sources to establish notability. Some of your sources are not reliable. I am not persuaded that she passes WP:BIO and I suggest you explore this in Draft space . I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit for review" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 16:48, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
Hello FilmCostumes. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:FilmCostumes. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=FilmCostumes|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message.
As a research fellow in this arena your status is complex. However, I believe that the fullest possible transparency is important. Its feels to me that being a research fellow as declared on your user page is suggestive of a benefit received from creating articles here. While I have no intention of discouraging you, your attention to this area is important, please. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 16:56, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hello,
- I am happy to confirm that I have no financial stake in promoting this topic, and I receive no financial benefit from the subjects of the articles I am creating and editing. I am an academic researcher in the area of film history and costume history, and my wikipedia work is driven by a desire to improve visibility of costume work in the wider public realm. I am not employed by, or benefitting from, any costume house, costume designer or maker. FilmCostumes (talk) 11:29,
Spinster300 (talk) 17:33, 1 April 2025 (UTC)DYK for Vin Burnham
[edit]On 27 April 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Vin Burnham, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Lady Gaga's Living Dress was designed by the creator of the Batsuit? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Vin Burnham. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Vin Burnham), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
