There is a scam underway, targeting editors who attempt to publish Wikipedia article(s); see WP:SCAM for more information. If you have been approached by someone offering to create, accept or otherwise help publish an article in exchange for a payment, please e-mail the details to paid-en-wp@wikipedia.org. This may help others in a similar situation to avoid becoming victims of this vile scam.PS: If that someone claims to be me, they emphatically are not! |
If I declined your draft at AfC, and you came to ask me to re-review it, please don't (unless I expressly said you could) – I feel it's fairer to the other drafts that yours goes back to the pool... and probably also fairer to your draft that someone else reviews it next. (And if you just came to tell me you've made changes, that's great, but no need to inform me.)
If you still want to leave me a message about a draft or article, I'd appreciate if you could please link to the page in question, so I don't have to go hunting for it. Ta.
Question from Don Friedmann (21:56, 22 February 2025)
[edit]Hello and thanks for being my mentor. I really don't have specific expertise from my own training. I made my first edits to the "Ultraconservatism" page because I knew there were glaring errors, and I could correct them while still adhering to the cited sources. I made 2 edits earlier in the day, which do not have my user name associated with them, because I made them before I registered. Can these be changed? Also, how can I access people's notes about pages? If I get notes, I can research them, and if they are factual, I can make the edits. Thank you! --Don Friedmann (talk) 21:56, 22 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Don Friedmann, and welcome!
- No, unfortunately edits which have been made cannot be reallocated to a different editor.
- I wonder what you mean by
"people's notes about pages"
? When you make an edit, you can (and should) leave an edit summary describing what you've done and why; this will be visible in the page history for everyone to see. - Anyone who wants, can also discuss the article (how to develop and improve it, any particular problems they feel it has, etc.) on its talk page.
- Those are the two things that first come to mind as "notes about pages" – is either what you meant? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:53, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
pages are autumaticly deleting multiple times please let me know is the any issue?
[edit]pages are automatically deleting multiple times please let me know is the any issue? working from yesterday but you guys are deleting Abhay Pra Singh (talk) 07:24, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Abhay Pra Singh: nothing is being "automatically deleted", that cannot happen. In each case, an administrator reviews the page, and if it is found to meet one of clearly defined deletion criteria, they will manually delete the page.
- You are posting what appears to be original research/synthesis and/or personal opinion, neither of which is allowed on Wikipedia. If you wish to propound your arguments or advocate for a cause, you need to find a different platform for that, perhaps a social media or blogging site of some sort. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, and we merely summarise what independent and reliable secondary sources have previously published about a subject, and do so in a neutral and factual manner. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:40, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- Here’s a polite and concise response you can use: --- Thank you for your feedback, DoubleGrazing. I understand the importance of following Wikipedia’s guidelines on verifiability and neutrality. I am working to ensure that the article includes only reliable, secondary sources that present a balanced view of the topic. I appreciate your guidance and will make the necessary adjustments to adhere to Wikipedia’s standards. --Abhay Pra Singh for a few seconds
- Thank you for clarifying, DoubleGrazing. I understand the need for reliable secondary sources and a neutral tone, and I'll adjust my contributions accordingly. Abhay Pra Singh (talk) 07:45, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Abhay Pra Singh: no problem.
- BTW, please don't use AI to compose your messages, it tends to annoy people and, more to the point, doesn't necessarily make the point you wanted to make. To put it bluntly, AI sure talks a lot of rubbish! ;) DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:48, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- DoubleGrazing, I appreciate your feedback. I want to assure you that I compose my messages myself and do not use AI to write them. Abhay Pra Singh (talk) 07:49, 23 February 2025 (UTC)

Hey, I created a Request to Move on "Race Walking". How do I know when to close it? --Pawnyy (talk) 13:46, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Pawnyy: you should normally leave the RtM open for at least 7 days, and shouldn't close it yourself. After 7 days, if there appears to be consensus, you can post a closure request, for an uninvolved editor to close it. See WP:RMCLOSE for more. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:07, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
Question from FactSeeker42 (15:32, 25 February 2025)
[edit]hello i want to send articles about anime in wikipedia can you see my account and tell me if i have posted it or not --FactSeeker42 (talk) 15:32, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @FactSeeker42: yes, I can see that you have posted some content in your sandbox, at User:FactSeeker42/sandbox... however, that isn't unfortunately appropriate for Wikipedia, and will need to be deleted. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, not a blogging or social media platform. I'll post a message on your talk page with some pointers to how you can contribute. About Hyosung Chemical, Heavy Industries and TNC
[edit]Thank you for your feedback. I was never paid to write a Wikipedia article. My first language is not English, and I enrolled in an English Wikipedia article to practice writing in Korea as a hobby. I’d like to clarify that the article is based solely on factual information, with every sentence supported by objective evidence. If there are any specific sentences or sections that come across as promotional, please feel free to point them out, and I’d be happy to review and adjust them as needed. Regarding the reliability of sources, the article draws from the company's official website and reputable publications such as the Korea JoongAng Daily, The Korea Times, Korea IT Times, The Korea Herald, and Maeil Business Newspaper. These are comparable to the sources used in corporate articles for companies like Samsung or Hyundai Motor Company on Wikipedia. If there are concerns about the credibility of any specific sources, I’d appreciate more details so we can address them appropriately. 175.211.210.61 (talk) 04:48, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Request for Review - BankSathi Wikipedia Article
[edit]@DoubleGrazing Can you please provide a review of the BankSathi Wikipedia article? I'm particularly interested in feedback on its notability, sourcing, and overall quality.
Thank you for your time and expertise. MH-wiki2025 (talk) 12:41, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
- @MH-wiki2025: there is no article at BankSathi. There was one briefly at Banksathi, but it was moved into the draft space for insufficient evidence of notability, so I guess that answers your question? There is also a draft at Draft:BankSathi, which was declined (by me) back in October. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:09, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
- @DoubleGrazing : Acknowledged. I believe BankSathi meets notability guidelines. If permitted, I will revise Draft:Banksathi with updated sourcing to address previous concerns. If not, I will respect the prior decision. -- MH-wiki2025 (talk) 15:52, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
List of Earldoms Baronage of Scotland
[edit]Good day,
I urgently need assistance regarding the list of Earldoms in the Baronage of Scotland. I added an entry for the Earl of Dunbar, along with a publicly accessible source. However, the user Kellycrak88 keeps deleting my contributions and insists that only one specific register, roll.baronage.com, is acceptable.
This register is a private database, just like the source I provided. In the realm of feudal nobility, there are no longer any official state registers, as feudal tenure was abolished. By selectively enforcing only one private register while rejecting others, Kellycrak88 is actively violating Wikipedia’s neutrality guidelines.
I kindly request intervention to ensure fair treatment of sources and to prevent selective enforcement of privately run databases.
Earls, Marquises and Dukes in the Baronage of Scotland Historywriter1540 (talk) 14:10, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Historywriter1540: this seems to be effectively a content dispute, and should be settled by discussing with the other involved user(s) on the article talk page. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:21, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
A vandal block
[edit]Hi, this IP 65.121.32.226 is constantly doing vandalism, If you check his edit history, he either removes content or writes nonsense Codonified (talk) 17:33, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Codonified: thanks, but they haven't edited for over a month. If this continues, let me know and I'll hit them with (another) block. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 17:41, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply!
- BTW can I ask a question?
- Given the future generation's usage of "brainrot" terms, is it acceptable to use such on wikipedia(not in article but talk page)? Codonified (talk) 17:54, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Codonified: personally I'd rather not, but realistically I don't think there's much we can do to prevent it. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 18:07, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
- sigma response🗿 and we shouldn’t do anything about it😈
- As always skibidi😎 Codonified (talk) 18:10, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hey could you tell me how this is possible?, I mean how is he able to remain anonymous and have no ip address or edit history? Codonified (talk) 19:04, 2 March 2025 (UTC)
