Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Cherryblossomgirly, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

New to Wikipedia? Please consider taking a look at our introductory tutorial or reviewing the contributing to Wikipedia page to learn the basics about editing. Below are a few other good pages about article creation.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, ask me on my talk page. You can also type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! TornadoLGS (talk) 03:28, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Starting a new article.

[edit]

I reverted your edit at Terroriser since it should probably remain a redirect for now. I suggest instead starting the page as a WP:DRAFT and submitting it through the articles for creation process to ensure it meets Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. You should also probably see Wikipedia's disambiguation guideline on who to handle different topics with the same or similar names. If an article on this person is published, it would likely be under a title like Terroriser (YouTuber). TornadoLGS (talk) 03:32, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Tacyarg. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Nogla, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Tacyarg (talk) 14:01, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for your message. Names of family members shouldn't be included in Wikipedia unless those people are notable themselves - see WP:BLPNAME. I'll have a look at the sub count edits; I'm not sure of the policy around those. Best wishes, Tacyarg (talk) 17:21, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure what you're referring to with "sub count" but double-checking the pages on user access levels and edit count doesn't mention reverted edits as being not counted. TornadoLGS (talk) 18:43, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This was to do with YouTube views, I think, TornadoLGS.
Cherryblossomgirly, I've put back the counts and most of your other copyedits, except the ones which need sources and the names of his siblings. Apologies - I saw you'd put in the names and reverted that without seeing your constructive edits. Best wishes, Tacyarg (talk) 18:46, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. At least one of your edits on the page Deadpool & Wolverine, while it may have been in good faith, was difficult to distinguish from vandalism. To help other editors understand the reason for the changes, you can use an edit summary for your contributions. You can also take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. IMDb is a not a reliable source. You appear to not be understanding your warnings. Anyway, here's another one. Seasider53 (talk) 16:42, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
i'm not understanding my warnings? what warnings? who are you and why did you reverse my edit to bob gunton's page? all i did was add in his full name. if his father's name is Robert Patrick Gunton Sr., then obviously Bob's full name is Robert Patrick Gunton Jr. what's your issue? Cherryblossomgirly (talk) 18:41, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Seasider is referring to the above messages on this page. TornadoLGS (talk) 21:10, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Manual of style

[edit]

I can see your good intentions, but you're introducing a lot of style errors (such as Using Sentence Case in Section Headings), resulting in others having to fix your errors. Please read Wikipedia:Manual of Style. If you continue in your current manner, it may lead to a temporary removal of editing privileges. Seasider53 (talk) 22:07, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

okay fair enough on that. thank you for finally telling me why you reverted something. but did you really have to revert everything i did? i also updated Nogla's sub and view count, added in another one of his channels and sourced more info, and you just got rid of all of that work i did, when you could've just fixed the capitalisation. pretty unnecessary, dude. and you clearly don't even really care, because if you did, instead of reverting everything, you would also update his sub and view counts etc. but no, you revert everything when you could've just edited out the capitalisation. that's not even the only stuff of mine you've reverted. Cherryblossomgirly (talk) 22:49, 27 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
update: i've just reverted you reverting my edit. so everything i sourced and updated is back BUT i fixed the capitalisation of headings. i hope now it is to your satisfaction and follows the rules. thanks for making me aware of heading capitalisation but you could've told me that earlier instead of staying quiet, dont you think? Information icon Hi Cherryblossomgirly! I noticed that you recently made an edit at Jonathan Knight and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Wikipedia: it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. BlueboyLINY (talk) 04:34, 11 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

thank you for making me aware, i appreciate that. i'll remember this for future edits. i should've known that already though. Cherryblossomgirly (talk) 09:33, 11 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Ohnoitsjamie. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contribution attempts have been disallowed by an edit filter as they did not appear constructive. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. If you believe the edit filter disallowance was a false positive, please report it here. Feel free to ask for assistance at the Teahouse whenever you like. Thank you. "Scottish not British"

[edit]

Regarding some of your recent discussions with other users on this topic, there is no black-and-white policy as whether to use British vs English/Scottish/Welsh/etc, but there are guidelines here with examples. OhNoitsJamie Talk 00:54, 17 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

thank you for the link. i cant reply to you on your talk page for some reason, so to continue on where we left off, you said "No one said you were a vandal; I already explained on your talk page why you triggered the filter." just to be clear i also never said that you said i WAS a vandal, i was just letting you know i wasn't one and what my intention were, that's all. in your first message, you also said if i have any questions, then to message you on your talk page, but in your reply, you just said you already explained what happened and dodged my question. yes you did already explain, but i clearly didn't quite understand what you meant, so i'm asking you in bigger detail to kindly explain. thank you. Cherryblossomgirly (talk) 01:46, 17 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
See Wikipedia:Edit_filter. I maintain a number of edit filters; one of them among other things prevents new additions of user-generated sites like alechtron and newworldencyclopedia. OhNoitsJamie Talk 18:41, 17 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Adding "Jr" suffix to articles

[edit]

Please read MOS:JR which starts "Using Jr., Sr., or other such distinctions, including in the lead sentence of an article, is only for cases in which the name with the suffix is commonly used in reliable sources." Your recent edits are not following this convention. I have reverted them. Please do not add "Jr" to articles unless it is clear that this is how the subject of the article is commonly referred to, Thanks, Opolito (talk) 13:22, 3 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Theodore Roosevelt is a Jr., but is not ever referred to as such, but still has Jr. in his wiki. In the early life sections of James Madison and William McKinley, they are referred to as 'Jr.', but not in the opening line of their wiki's. And John Tyler is never referred to as 'Jr.' in his early life section, or the opening line, despite his father being John Tyler Sr.. Why is this? If Roosevelt is called a Jr., why aren't Madison, McKinley or Tyler? Especially when none of them are usually referred to as one, why is Roosevelt the only one to have it in his wiki? Cherryblossomgirly (talk) 13:34, 3 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Madison and McKinley are referred to as "Jr" in their "Early life" sections to distinguish them from their father, who is named in the same sentence. Tyler's Early life section avoids the necessity to do that. The suffix "Jr" should be added to the opening sentence because none of them are referred to that way in the majority of reliable sources. Opolito (talk) 13:44, 3 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
In the last sentence, where you say; "The suffix "Jr" should be added to the opening sentence because none of them are referred to that way in the majority of reliable sources.", do you mean to say; "The suffix "Jr" shouldn't be added to the opening sentence because none of them are referred to that way in the majority of reliable sources." Cherryblossomgirly (talk) 14:08, 3 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, sorry, that was a typo. Opolito (talk) 14:13, 3 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

what's with the kind way of talking? you were being very rude to me before, why have you suddenly changed? you called me useless and said i don't help anything, so it's very rich of you to say i wasn't being very civil. you wouldn't know civil if it slapped you. what do you mean was i unable to stop? unable to stop your incorrect reverts of my correct edits? you're making yourself the victim and it's hilarious. you clearly don't care about being civil, otherwise you would have been civil 5 messages ago. you're just trying to seem nice when you're really not. you wont fool me. it's pretty hard when you do the things you do. you still haven't answered my question though. give me one moment when i've been a "historically disruptive editor"? you used to constantly revert my edits and would give no reason, that's what i'd call being disruptive, but i guess you have your own definition of words? how am i vandalising? you don't need to explain hypocorisms as per Wikipedia:Using nicknames. I'm not the one vandalising, it's everyone else. Cherryblossomgirly (talk) 15:43, 27 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Also, see WP:3RR. I wouldn't be surprised if you've already violated it. Seasider53 (talk) 15:46, 27 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies

[edit]

@Seasider53, i apologise for my behaviour. it was disgusting, inappropriate and immature. what i did was inexcusable and i am very sorry. i've been blocked indefinitely from editing wikipedia, but i understand why and it's only my fault. however, i only ask you one thing, please for the love of god, if or when i get unblocked, please give actual reasons for reverting my edits other than saying i'm a "historically disruptive editor". that's not a good reason, and it's not even true. i don't go around intentionally vandalising and trying to ruin Wikipedia, do i? maybe it looks that way, but i promise i don't. i try my best to edit Wikipedia by following the MOS, and the rules, but i didn't do that yesterday, and again, i apologise. i don't expect you to forgive me, but i hope we can put this behind us and move on, and maybe even collaborate on edits in the future. thank you. Cherryblossomgirly (talk) 18:15, 28 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, seems to be a trend though. And that was to an editor with 17 years experience. And why do you type all in lowercase? Seasider53 (talk) 19:38, 28 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
idk i just do. strange thing to notice lol. Cherryblossomgirly (talk) 19:44, 28 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies pt 2

[edit]

@TheBanner, i apologise for the way i treated you. i was out of line and was acting stupid. i'm very sorry, and i hope we can move on from this and you can forgive me. although i understand if you choose not to. let's be civil with each other and hopefully we can communicate better and be friendly. thank you. Cherryblossomgirly (talk) 20:06, 28 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

To be true, it does not sound very sincere. The Banner talk 03:58, 30 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, i understand why you feel that way. But i assure you, it is sincere. And all you can do is take my word for it. I just hope you accept it, and if you don't, then i don't know what more you could actually want from me. I'm apologising, and that's all i can do. I'm trying to do my best, believe me. thank you. request

[edit]

This user is asking that their block be reviewed:

Cherryblossomgirly (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Hello. I recently engaged in an edit war, which violated the 3 revert rule. I was then promptly indefinitely blocked from editing. I completely understand the reasoning for block, i was being disruptive with my edits and made several personal attacks. I've since read the Wikipedia:Guide to appealing blocks, and i think my block should be lifted. It's been 2 days since i was blocked and i have apologised to the people who i made personal attacks to and engaged in the war with. I hope we have made amends, but i think they are still quite wary, which i get. I think i've learned my lesson, and i'll do better going forward. I have no excuses, i insulted others for no good reason and was extremely rude. I would appreciate the block being lifted, and i hope whoever reviews this, also agrees it should be. Thank you. Cherryblossomgirly (talk) 22:31, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Notes:

  • In some cases, you may not in fact be blocked, or your block has already expired. Please check the list of active blocks. If no block is listed, then you have been autoblocked by the automated anti-vandalism systems. Please remove this request and follow these instructions instead for quick attention by an administrator.
  • Please read our guide to appealing blocks to make sure that your unblock request will help your case. You may change your request at any time.

Hi there! I appreciate the apologies you made and that you've acknowledged some of your behaviour (e.g., the edit warring). Can you tell us what you would do differently if unblocked? Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 03:12, 30 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for responding. Well, during my time being blocked, i've been reading the Wikipedia:Getting started page (which i skipped when i first created my account), and i realise that my edits i was so dead set on making and enforcing, weren't even really "correct". I thought MOS was set rules that had to be followed, but i understand now they're just guidelines, and people have different styles of writing articles - none of which are "wrong", like i thought. With that in mind, i now know i wont feel so intense when someone doesn't share the same writing style as me and i will make sure i get a consensus on the talk page of an article instead of acting like i'm right, and everyone else is wrong. Thank you. Cherryblossomgirly (talk) 04:04, 30 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
