This user is asking that their block be reviewed:

Request reason:

Hi Bbb23.
I already read the guide to appealing blocks. Since I'm new to Wikipedia, I presume I was blocked because I did something wrong. Following the list of possible violations, I created two different accounts because I realized that I unconsciously used a personal Email, which I use to personal matters. The first thing I did was create another account with a different email. This is the main mistake I made regarding your rules.
My intention is not to do it again.
Additionally, since I have knowledge about AI and biometrics, I was contributing to a page where I thought I could add content. Being new to Wikipedia's rules, I was aware of the lack of content links or guidelines on that page, but I thought I could start practicing there until I completed my contributions. I didn't expect to be blocked or have my work deleted so soon. I also sent an email to the person who deleted that page, asking for guidance on how to make the necessary corrections. If there is something else please let me know if I made another mistake or violation.
Lastly, I'm here to contribute my knowledge and experience to the community. There are several topics where I can contribute, and I am passionate about learning and making social contributions to public knowledge. I look forward to continuing to learn about your community. Happy to help. 2024july (talk) 15:43, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You addressed this statement to Bbb23, but an unblock request is to ask for a third party to review this matter. If you wish to negotiate with Bbb23, you don't need to make an unblock request. I would note that the specific email address you attach to an account is not relevant to anything on Wikipedia; it's not known to anyone other than you(unless you reply to emails sent via Wikipedia) and we don't know if a particular email address is "business" or "personal". 331dot (talk) 20:11, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Bbb23: I would appreciate your input on the unblock request, including both the grounds for the original block as well as whether you think an unblock would be warranted at this time. Thank you, Newyorkbrad (talk) 14:57, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The block is what it says it's for: socking. I oppose an unblock. See SmartBarrel and HJ Mitchell's block of Wendpio. There are probably other accounts as well.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:07, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Bbb23 and HJ Mitchell: Bbb23, thanks for the reply. I saw that the block was for socking, but I wasn't certain who the editor was a sock of (I could try to figure it out from your contributions, but on an unblock request I hate to guess). Also, the editor has now provided an explanation for why he registered two accounts, and I'm trying to figure out whether this is a good-faith explanation or not. HJ Mitchell, I'd appreciate your commenting as well, including on whether this block needs to be left for CU review. Thanks, Newyorkbrad (talk) 15:50, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There are three accounts. HJ blocked one, and I blocked the other two.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:53, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Newyorkbrad (cc @Bbb23) I don't think this absolutely has to be left for a CU. I can tell you that Wendpio and 2024july don't share an IP address but are on the same large range in a part of the world known for very busy ranges. I can tell you that those two accounts have identical user agents but that it's one of the most common UAs on Earth. And they share an interest in one article, which I'm close to certain was created by a PR/black hat SEO firm. I'd be curious to know if 2024july has any relationship to SmartBarrel or a PR firm but if their answer was a lie I couldn't prove it. From there it's an exercise in trust, or perhaps rope. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:19, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
2024july, please let me have your thoughts about these concerns? Newyorkbrad (talk) 16:30, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure if this is also related to another UPE/Spam "ring" that Ponyo has noted in some of her blocks.--Bbb23 (talk) 16:57, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Who knows? They're innumerable. What's concerning about this case is there is 1) admitted creation of multiple accounts by this editor who 2) added what amounts to ad copy to a newly created article that has typical UPE hallmarks. I'd be wary.-- Ponyobons mots 17:27, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
