Sherry Soni (born 21 November 1990) is an Indian Music Producer , Dj and a teacher. Based in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, she is known for her high-energy DJ sets and genre-blending musical projects that fuse Indian aesthetics with Ghetto Rave underground music movements. As a transgender woman, she is also a visible voice in India's LGBTQIA+ artistic community.
Early Life
[edit]Sherry was born in Meghnagar, Madhya Pradesh, and grew up in Various cities like Dahod , ujjain . From a young age, she was drawn to Art , FIlms and music. She Came out as a transwoman and a lesbian on national tv in MTV Roadies x in 2012 . She began transitioning in 2019 and has since spoken openly about her experiences as a trans lesbian woman navigating the Indian creative landscape.
Career
[edit]Sherry started her music journey as a self-taught producer and DJ. She uses software like FL Studio and Rekordbox and performs with gear including the DDJ-1000 and CDJ-3000 setups. Over time, she developed multiple musical personas to express different sides of her artistry:
- Sherry Soni – Her main act, inspired by Ghetto rave sounds followed by the prodigy, fused with desi and underground club culture.
- Kleopatra – An ethereal techno project with Egyptian aesthetics, dreamy , hypnotic vibes symbolic storytelling, and spiritual themes. The Eye of Horus is the central symbol of this act.
- Disco Haseena – A retro disco-inspired persona influenced by Belgian new beat, 80s synthpop, and desi funk. She launched the Bombay Disco Society under this alias.
Her debut album, Rave Express Volume 1, released independently in 2025, features 11 tracks and showcases her signature Desi Ghetto rave energy.
Artistic Style
[edit]Sherry’s work is known for its bold fusion of cinematic storytellingand rave aesthetics. She is heavily influenced by visual universes like Mad Max and Warehouse Raves , and often combines fantasy , sci-fi, and femininity in her branding.
Personal Life
[edit]Sherry has been on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) since 2019. She identifies as a trans lesbian woman and is a vocal supporter of LGBTQIA+ visibility on her instagram . She currently lives in Indore with her family and dogs and promotes the idea of chosen family and community living.
