From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Up2U is a community of practice (COP) that was formed by University of Pretoria's e-education unit in 2007. [1] The UP2U COP is intended to foster meaningful relationships among learning designers and for practitioners to share their experience and knowledge with other practitioners.[2]

History

[edit]

Educational technologists and instructional designers from four Gauteng Universities (University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), the University of Pretoria (UP), the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) and the University of Johannesburg (UJ)), were combined into the acronym (W)ITS-UP-TUT-UJ. Since 2007, this group has been meeting regularly as a practitioner community,[3] and has expanded beyond the four initial institutions.
