Description of suggested change:

Would it be possible to have "Personal details" as a heading, at the moment in the info box above "Born" there is no heading, just a purple line. For other infoboxes we have a "Personal details" heading, so makes sense for this to be the case here too?

Diff: Diogo Costa (talk) 01:51, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see why we need an extra line for no added value. Infoboxes should be short. DrKay (talk) 07:39, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I would argue for readability and consistency with other Infoboxes. Diogo Costa (talk) 11:35, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see a 'Personal details' section at Template:Infobox person, which is the parent infobox of this one, or one at Template:Infobox military person or Template:infobox noble or many other biographical infoboxes. This is the consistent style. DrKay (talk) 11:48, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting because it does show up on Template:Infobox officeholder, so you'll see in my articles of country leaders across the world. Diogo Costa (talk) 11:58, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Scottish monarchs

[edit]

For Scottish monarchs, the Coronation parameter only applies to monarchs starting with David II of Scotland. All kings (no queens in their own right existed) before David II went through an Inauguration ceremony per the Gaelic succession rules. So, could we have an Inauguration parameter for these individuals. Presumably, if agreed, that would involve having Inauguration1, Inauguration2, and Inauguration3 parameters as well. There's one already, through the cor-type parameter. Celia Homeford (talk) 14:57, 19 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Add parameter 'order' Could you add an "order" parameter like the one in Template:Infobox officeholder? It would be useful in tracking the order of monarchs in a country that has/had a lot of them (e.g. Portugal).Oos88 (talk) 17:35, 7 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

No. Order parameters must only be used when there is a well-established use of such numbering in reliable sources. DrKay (talk) 18:43, 7 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Add "honorific suffix" just like in the Template:Infobox officeholder. It's very much needed for articles including the article of Princess Antonia, Duchess of Wellington. 151.76.51.223 (talk) 19:40, 22 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{Edit semi-protected}} template. DrKay (talk) 19:42, 22 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Add parameter "death_cause" for individuals with notable deaths. It would make this information easier to add, since right now it requires a second infobox to be embedded. SavagePanda845 (talk) 03:45, 1 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The death cause parameter for infobox person is only used when the person is notable because of their death. That doesn't apply for royalty whose notability arises otherwise. DrKay (talk) 10:10, 2 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I understand where you are coming from, but royalty like Charles I and Louis XVI are mostly notable internationally for having been executed. Having the parameter would just streamline the process. SavagePanda845 (talk) 20:04, 2 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
