Per WP:INFONAT, could someone with the necessary skills change the field from nationality to citizenship? Citizenship doesn’t appear to be supported. It would probably be good if either was possible, as there might be situations where both might be needed. Thanks, Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 13:50, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Good catch, I'm unfortunenatly not your guy. But I would like to suggest that what should be done is to add a | citizenship parameter, rather than changing the | nationality field. A simple change would result in old data presented with a new label, which may or may not be a mismatch or false.
I support to keep both | citizenship and | nationality fields. Nationality can be problematic for contemporary religious leaders, but our template is used also for historical figures, where Nationality is often more appropriate than Citizenship.A ntv (talk) 18:47, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure how to proceed, but it seems WP:INFONAT suggests the removal of the | nationality parameter entirely. I would argue that addition + deletion is a better solution than changing, but I'm not sure that it is the best solution. OJH (talk) 14:31, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Marking this as an edit request for visibility.Currently this template only has a "Nationality" parameter; MOS:INFONAT states that nationality should not be used in biographies, and the parameter is deprecated in most major biographical infoboxes including Template:Infobox person.Propose adding a "Citizenship" parameter to bring this infobox in line with other biographical infoboxes, and allow following the MOS:INFONAT guideline; this shouldn't be controversial.Aside from edit request re: addition of the new parameter, a separate discussion should be had as to whether to designate the Nationality parameter as deprecated (such as what was done at Template:Infobox person) and superseded by Citizenship where relevant and applicable. I would like to point out something I consider very important. Before the era of liberalism, citizenship was not a wide-spread term, instead, people used to be subjects (of the Kingdom of Naples, or the Papal States). I think this parameter should be included too, especially because this infobox is very widely used for people born in pre-modern era. --Governor Sheng (talk) 12:08, 10 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

for proper dark-mode support, adding a class skin-invert in order so that it displays as light on dark and dark on light. additionally, minor change, moving from "'s" to "of" so that "signature" comes first and doesn't cause any issue with some names. duplicated that to the default alt text.
Not done: please make your requested changes to the template's sandbox first; see WP:TESTCASES. I don't think it is appropriate to add skin-invert to every image. I recommend adding |class= to the sandbox and testing it on the testcases page with a few images (including jpg, png, svg). – Jonesey95 (talk) 16:15, 25 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Need to add new fields under "Orders": Installation & Installed_by. These reflect the Christian act of Installation, which is a liturgical act when, at least in the ELCA a Bishop (or other specific leaders) are installed to begin their tenure. Bastique☎ call me!20:19, 31 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
