Fully Protected

[edit]

This is getting really annoying. Per WP:V, someone needs to show a reliable reference that Aaron Rodgers has started a game for the Packers to even hint at being added to this template. As per the norm on other QB templates, QB's who have started the majority of a season are added to this list. Rodgers hasn't even started once! Im tired of reverting so I fully protected the template. « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) @ 06:57, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Matt Flynn is listed as the starting quarterback from 2010 to the present. He is the backup quarterback and not the starter. This should be changed to Aaron Rodgers from 2008 to the present. Thanks!

Prior to 1950 text

[edit]

Dissident93, I understand what you are trying to achieve, but nowhere else do we have notes on templates (especially using the bright coloring of the "above" parameter) that clarifies that something isn't included in a template. Instead of this, would you be supportive of adding hidden text in the template and an edit notice explaining this? « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 15:36, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

We note former team names using |above= (see the Commanders template) so it's not unprecedented. I'm not against another format as long as it is displayed somewhere letting unaware editors known why pre-1950 QBs are omitted. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 15:39, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that works better because it is ancillary text that supports the header text. I guess this note, imho, would be better using the |bottom=, as it is a clarifying note regarding the main content. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 15:41, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Here is another option. Not stating an opinion one way or the other. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 17:15, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I prefer this one much more. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 17:33, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Text like that should still use |below= and not a raw linebreak. The hidden PFR link can be listed right after, it doesn't need to be formatted like a cite template. Here's what that looks like. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 20:02, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Fine with that too, although could we doo a very light grey instead of purple? This would make it neutral and avoid the gold highlighting that below typical has. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 20:16, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I forgot how templates use that ugly shade of purple by default as I edit in dark mode (which lacks it). Most of these NFL templates use team colors there. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 21:33, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
