Trump suggesting Elon has TDS might be noteworthy enough for inclusion. AP is a reliable source, not sure why you are suggesting we are sourcing directly to Trump. Zenomonoz (talk) 07:55, 7 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Following the U.S. "Midnight Hammer" B-2 Bomber attack on Iran nuclear facilities sites that were bombed on June 22, 2025 with fourteen to twelve 30,000 lb GBU-57 “bunker-buster” bombs and by an array of "Tomahawk" cruise missiles launched from a guided missile submarine. President Donald Trump claimed that its nuclear program was “obliterated.” Pete Hegseth also indicated similar reports. The claim and reporting by CNN and other legacy news outlets that was not successful and the “selective and unlawful leaking of a report” that showed an early US intelligence assessment found the strikes did not destroy the core components of the country’s nuclear program and likely only set it back by months. However, early TDS inspired hoax reports by CNN and other legacy media reported that the U.S. airstrikes did not destroy key components at Iranian nuclear sites. "I hope with all the ink spilled, all of your outlets find the time to properly recognize this historic change in continental security," Hegseth said. President Trump has insisted, that the US strikes delivered a “devastating” attack. After a retaliatory counter-attack by Iran against the U.S. military, that was defended with Patriot Missiles. A ceasefire was declared a few days later, ending the Iran=Israel war per Secretary of State Marco Rubio and President Trump. Kudlow and Jesse Watters reported on the TDS reporting to deny the successful operation "obliterating" Iran's nuclear capabilities.[2]24.194.32.135 (talk) 23:37, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
"Minimal damage causing a month or two delay": That’s a summary, composite "take" of TDS-afflicted journalists and their sources who appear to suffer from JCPOA separation anxiety disorder. Americans should have learned, again, that they cannot trust the "fake news" of much of legacy media. The underlying disorders of these former "newsrooms" are too deep to treat.[3]24.194.32.135 (talk) 00:53, 27 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, that's sort of a step in the right directly. That source is a partisan Hugh Hewitt column which mentions "TDS-afflicted journalists" once, almost in passing. The proposed wording is non-neutral and mostly WP:SYNTH of these two sources. The column is only usable as an opinion source. Unless there is some more context from much better sources, this looks like WP:UNDUE and WP:RECENTISM. Grayfell (talk) 01:47, 27 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
In the "Usage" section, add:
CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Secretary of Defense from Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Caine, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio briefed lawmakers about President Trump's U.S. military "Midnight Hammer" strike on Iran's nuclear facilities sites on June 22, 2025. Senators had demanded additional information due to conflicting reports over whether Trump totally 'obliterated' Iran's nuclear program after a "top-secret intelligence document" leaked to CNN said it just set it back a few months. Senator Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) who chairs the Senate Intelligence Committee blamed "Trump Derangement Syndrome" for the negative press coverage of the strikes on Iran. 'Some Democrats, some in the media seem to have such a case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, that they’re rooting for the survival of Iran’s nuclear program versus celebrating success of our pilots and their crews, but I think the answers they got in there should be totally satisfactory', Cotton told reporters. Yet, some Democrats did not seem to be as satisfied with the briefing.[4] A ceasefire was later negotiated, ending the Iran-Israel war. 24.194.32.135 (talk) 06:53, 27 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It seems cruel to use that line from Cotton, we shouldn't deliberately be looking for the stupidest quote here to make him look bad.
We should be looking for a source that supports his claim about the people who supposedly want Iran to survive if we're going to include it, though, that would lend some balance. MilesVorkosigan (talk) 20:36, 30 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It is the only part of his statement that is relevant for this article. That is the reason for picking the quote, not its stupidity. (BTW, I don't think you have to look for very long for stupidity in what Republicans say.) --Hob Gadling (talk) 07:10, 9 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

This is obviously defamatory trend setting that isn't necessary on a reputable site like Wikipedia, it belongs on 4chan. Disgusting. 37.96.54.200 (talk) 17:03, 25 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
