  • ... that Terry Davis created TempleOS, a biblical-themed operating system, with over 120,000 lines of code, approximately the same length as the first version of Adobe Photoshop?

  • The source is inline cited to Vice, which is RS for these purposes (specifically, it says "121,176 lines of code"). The article was recently promoted to GA so meets the newness criteria, is NPOV, and Earwig shows "violation unlikely" on copyvio. Everything here is long enough. There's no image and no QPQ required. Great work and good to go! Chetsford (talk) 03:51, 9 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edits & reversion

[edit]

My recent edits relfect that I felt this article's WP:LEDE was bloated with basic biographical facts that were stated immediately below, that there was an unnecessary note about something not stated in a reference, and other cleanup items. 2a00:23c7:51ed:d01:f032:2b98:3b27:e761 disagrees, largely arguing that "achieving WP:GA status and a DYK nomination" means I shouldn't be trimming it without discussion. So, thoughts? --ZimZalaBim talk 03:08, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The lede is a bit long and could definitely be trimmed but I agree with the IP that too much was removed. After your last edit the lede did not establish his notability at all and just presented him as some programmer. I'm not sure how mentioning TempleOS is "unhelpful" since AFAIK it's the only thing he's notable for and we wouldn't even have an article otherwise.
I agree that the biographical details were excessive but in some cases they weren't mentioned anywhere else (eg his bachelor's degree was only in the lede). Probably makes more sense to move this stuff into the body and replace it with a short summary in the lede. The footnote about his parents' names is definitely unnecessary though. That first edit (and summary) was an error - I meant to remove the "entirely by himself" puffery. I've now reviewed what is in the main text about his upbringing and trimmed the lede accordingly. We don't need to restate every part of the biography, just hte most pertinent parts. That's what WP:LEDE advises. --ZimZalaBim talk 14:15, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
