Hi. I will be reviewing this - note that I might be away for a bit today but I aim to finish the review by Sunday evening. Alexeyevitch(talk) 12:45, 11 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies for the delay - will be back soon. Alexeyevitch(talk) 02:05, 12 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@History6042: could you please address my concern for the image license in the article? I went on their website and couldn't find the license of the image. Is there a specific page? Cheers. Alexeyevitch(talk) 02:56, 13 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Alexeyevitch, in the licensing section of the image on Wikipedia, it says "This logo image consists only of simple geometric shapes or text. It does not meet the threshold of originality needed for copyright protection, and is therefore in the public domain.". History6042😊 (Contact me) 12:35, 13 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

1. Well-written:
1a. the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct.
  • You should note IOC is an abbreviation of then International Olympic Committee
  • Ditto NOC
  •  Done
  • Due to the Civil War many of South Sudan... - sentence case
  • The basketball team consisted of 12 players [which included...]
  •  Done
  • facilities are broken down - grammar error
  • five sport federations - "sports" needs an "s"
  • Should a colon be placed after "12 players"?
  • "of a minimum five national sports" - [of] five
  • "and have competed" - past tense
  •  Done all except last because I think it is incorrect.
  • "athletics" is linked twice.
  • The links for Sudan and South Sudan are overlinks.
  •  Done
  • "tae kwon do" appears to be an obsolete spelling, hence [sic] may be appropriate.
  •  Done
1b. it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation.
  • Ref [5] has inconsistent dates and needs to be changed, ditto: [6], [7], [8], [10], [11], [12], [16], [17], [18], [19], [20], [23], and [25]
  • Ref [7] has a disambiguation link
  • South Sudan at the Olympics has already be linked and the see also section can be removed
  •  Done
2. Verifiable with no original research, as shown by a source spot-check:
2a. it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline.
  • I would advise not using "www.fiba.basketball" when it could instead be "Fiba Basketball" (not a deal breaker for GA though)
  •  Done
  • Ditto "olympiandatabase" and "olympedia", simply no need for "www"
  •  Done
2b. reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose).
  • What makes Radio Tamazuj a reliable source?
  • Ditto SportingNews.
  •  Done
  • Ditto World Anti-Doping Agency
  • World Anti-Doping Agency is a part of the IOC, which is reliable.
2c. it contains no original research.
  • [2] - what sports?
  • [4] - dead link
  • [6] - OK
  • [8] - OK
  • [10] - OK
  • [12] - OK
  • [14] - OK
  • [16] - OK
  •  Done
2d. it contains no copyright violations or plagiarism.
  • Earwig and I didn't notice any copyvios.
3. Broad in its coverage:
3a. it addresses the main aspects of the topic.
  • No issues.
3b. it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style).
  • No issues.
4. Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each.
  • Yes.
5. Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute.
  • Yep...
6. Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio:
6a. media are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content.
  • I could not verify the image license of the one in the article.
6b. media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions.
  • Passed, although 6a has not been addressed yet.
7. Overall assessment. Passed.
