Dubious

[edit]

The problem I have is the following content:

Basic services such as MTA stops on the subway (Roosevelt Island station) and bus routes (Q102 bus), as well as water and sewage input and output, are provided by the City of New York.

As it seems to be painting a picture of how the RIOC is a special state-created agency to administer the island which is now part of New York City, not owned by the State any long, but saying that the City-based functions include MTA amenities can't be right, as the MTA is a wholly state-run entity and is under no control by the City. Only in very exceptional cases is any MTA developement done by the City, such as the recent 7 line expansion. I think this needs to be removed outright if not cited, too strong of a claim to let stand with a mere CN tag. JesseRafe (talk) 13:57, 19 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Merge Roosevelt Island Public Safety Department into this article

[edit]

I propose merging the article Roosevelt Island Public Safety Department into this one considering the public safety article does not meet Wikipedia Notability guidelines. Also considering that this article is about the parent agency of the public safety dept., it makes more sense to have them on one page. Joeal532 (talk) 16:36, 16 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It's been two weeks. I'm merging the articles. Joeal532 (talk) 01:52, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
