Announcement Date

[edit]

I think this page could benefit from adding a column for official announcement dates for each position. Announcement date is included on the Second cabinet of Donald Trump page in addition to the assuming office date. Lexicon Insight (talk) 17:09, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Matt Gaetz inclusion

[edit]

Should Gaetz even be put in this article? Donald Trump is not yet the President of the United States, and the announcements (despite the work done on this article) are not yet appointments. Gaetz withdrew before any official process involving his appointment or nomination to the role of Attorney General actually began. This is an unprecedented move, to my knowledge no one announced by a President-elect of the United States withdrew their name from consideration after the announcement made by the transition. For reference, Neera Tanden, who received an official nomination by President Joe Biden and was the transition's announced candidate, withdrew from consideration after being referred to committee in the Senate. Tanden is omitted from the List of political appointments by Joe Biden and List of Executive Office appointments by Joe Biden articles. Mortifeye (talk) 19:03, 21 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Missing appointees

[edit]

James Braid (incoming director of the Office of Legislative Affairs) and Matthew Brasseaux (incoming director of the Office of Political Affairs) aren't listed on this page: [1] --1990'sguy (talk) 02:32, 4 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Layout

[edit]

Why are the departments alphabetical instead of by line of succession? Dickeyaustin786 (talk) 13:57, 12 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

@Aisrotkev8000: Removing links to articles that have not been created but have drafts is disruptive. See WP:REDDEAL. Keep the links there; they will be moved to mainspace eventually. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 14:34, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures

[edit]

I'm seeing a wealth of pictures in Google images for many named appointees. Perhaps they could be provided. BTW, a passing thought on looking up pictures is that the ethnic distribution of picks is so striking as to seem deliberately weighted. A section focusing on that salient phenomenon might be in order. Perhaps it could be subsumed under the existing "Reception". JohndanR (talk) 19:14, 22 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I see pic come in all shapes and sizees does it really matter if we have Chopped/Closeups or unchopped? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1004:A031:5523:258B:4A81:3DF7:FF2C (talk) 18:17, 18 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, we should leave them as cropped when possible to standardize the page as most images use closeups of the individuals. NathanBru (talk) 01:47, 5 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ok Well Adding the Word Chop to each picture just makes the page to mutch Cluster There are almost 3,0000 GB's on this page. And I kepet some pics chopped becuse most of them has two people in them. I only unchopped the ones that only has the one person. And most of these pictures are tempary anyways until there offical Gov Pic comes out. We still need to add James Byron's pic https://www.archives.gov/about/organization/senior-staff , Michelle King's pic https://web.archive.org/web/20250207161316/https://www.ssa.gov/agency/commissioner/ ,Marty Makary's new pic https://www.fda.gov/about-fda/fda-organization/martin-makary and Gail Slater's pic https://www.justice.gov/atr/staff-profile/assistant-attorney-general-gail-slater I don't know how to Upload pics And of corese we do need to make it as close as the first Trump appointment page. The First page only has the Two main office's for each department. And We do need to make a page for the VA appointments as well. If you could help me on that. That would be great. And I look Forward for your responce And Go TIGERS!!!!!2600:1004:A032:64B0:C1A2:B0B4:C1E4:AB7C (talk) 2600:1004:A032:64B0:C1A2:B0B4:C1E4:AB7C (talk) 02:06, 5 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It barely clusters it at all, cropping the images. And leaving them uncropped is not standard Wikipedia practice for a page of this type.
Also, here is a link to help you navigate how to upload pictures. I’ve done it several times before and it is very easy :)Wikipedia:Uploading images NathanBru (talk) 02:33, 5 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I am very busy now, but can work on uploading new official portraits in the coming days! NathanBru (talk) 02:35, 5 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
And yes, GO TIGERS AND GO LIONS! NathanBru (talk) 02:36, 5 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I found James Byron's pic but I don't know how to upload it https://www.archives.gov/about/organization/senior-staff and Michelle King https://web.archive.org/web/20250207161316/https://www.ssa.gov/agency/commissioner/ and Leland Dudek's pic https://www.ssa.gov/agency/commissioner/ thanks.2600:1004:A032:64B0:F8E3:39B:1865:41DE (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 17:28, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There are to mutch GB's we have 286,340 bytes on the main page right now. We need to shrink it down. And James Byron's pic https://www.archives.gov/about/organization/senior-staff , Michelle King's pic https://web.archive.org/web/20250207161316/https://www.ssa.gov/agency/commissioner/ ,Marty Makary's new pic https://www.fda.gov/about-fda/fda-organization/martin-makary and Gail Slater's pic https://www.justice.gov/atr/staff-profile/assistant-attorney-general-gail-slater still needs to be uploaded to the Main page.2600:1004:A032:64B0:6C19:2455:119E:28D6 (talk) 10:39, 3 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I don’t think it’s necessary to have acting appointments if they were only there for a short period of time

[edit]

The Biden article did not have acting appointments unless they were serving for a extended period of time, the acting nominees just add unnecessary clutter Joshthepanthersfan (talk) 01:42, 23 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Some Ideas

[edit]

Here are some Ideas I have to swink down the page I think for the refs for each of the Cabinet and level members we should have the offical ref for them and the lower Cabs below the Cab, https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/cabinet-and-cabinet-level-appointments/ https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/sub-cabinet-appointments/ And He did appoint Chairmen and Acting Chairmen of Indpindent Boards. https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/designation-of-chairmen-and-acting-chairmen/

And Why is every person the President is appointing is on here this is why we have other pages for the lower staff like all the ambassaders and all of the attornes? The first Trump appointment page only has the 2 main jobs and the full Senate vote Secretary and Deputy Sec. Thanks so mutch. 2600:1004:A032:7F2A:3C4F:9B4:816:7DB (talk) 16:41, 26 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Appointments and References January and Febuary 2025

[edit]

Ok this page is missing the References for mostly all of the appointments we need to add them Under this section please add your appointment and Reference I know most people like me don't know how to add the References to the page like other users but we need to get things back in order.

Ambassadors vs Charge de affairs

[edit]

There’s no such thing as a acting ambassador, they’re called charge de affairs, and they’re not the same, please remove that sea of yellow Joshthepanthersfan (talk) 00:35, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I Updated the Color to orange to all of them but I think we should get rid of all the lower people any ways becuse it's not like the first Trump appointment page which only has the 2 main jobs for each department thats why someone made more pages for each department so there are not mutch people on here. And The VA never got a page made for there appointments.2600:1004:A032:64B0:DC99:1E34:4049:82AA (talk) 2600:1004:A032:64B0:DC99:1E34:4049:82AA (talk) 02:51, 23 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Is Every DOGE Member a "Political Appointment"?

[edit]

Seems inconsistent/excessive to include every DOGE member on this page. We are not including every staff level political appointee for every other department/agency. Shouldn't this page be limited to leadership/named positions? Or individuals appointed by the President directly? HelpHelp931 (talk) 19:40, 10 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Article view when viewed from a mobile phone.

[edit]

I want to ask why this article looks weird when viewed from a mobile phone. But it is not weird when viewed from a computer or laptop. Maybe anyone can fix it so that the appearance of this article looks normal when viewed from a mobile phone. Thank you. Aisrotkev8000 (talk) 13:50, 8 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

Ok people we need References on here not just saying where the References comes from just put them on. I know some people like me don't know how to put References on but that's ok Add them on here if you don't know how. And someone like 1990'sguy or Wollers14 can put them on the main page for you. And I don't know who added Michael Anton to Department of the Treasury with out a Ref but thank you 1990'sguy for fixing that. I know there are 2 offical websites to get the info off of WhiteHouse.gov and Congress.gov If you have to use a news Reference add it on here first if its not added for a while try adding it your self your let an expert know about your sourse. Article length

[edit]

This article is rather long. I recommend finding a way to split it.Edknol (talk) 21:20, 11 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

For the first Trump page it only has the two major nominees on their and only the small departments and agent sees are on that page only that’s why someone made separate pages for each of the cabinet departments for all their staffing. We need to keep up on those pages.2600:1004:A031:8253:B063:E429:E4C0:34C (talk) 2600:1004:A031:8253:B063:E429:E4C0:34C (talk) 05:09, 12 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Limiting the list for DOGE to leadership/key positions and removing every "member" (which are arguably not "political appointments" in the traditional sense) and redirecting to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_of_the_Department_of_Government_Efficiency#List_of_members would cut this article down. I think we need to study the first Trump page to make the 2nd one look like the first and Nobody created a page for The VA Department people so we do need to make a page for them like the other departments. So lets put this to a Vote that will be open for 30 days Tuesday August 19th, 2025 August 20th we will Strip this page from Scrach and Fix it and all others and We need to keep up on the other pages. So Count me as a Yes for the First Floormat Version.2600:1004:A031:4512:1006:BEC3:5C2:C81C (talk)
