A new photo is necessary

[edit]

Even a screenshot from a recent video of his would be an upgrade, as the current one is both old and low quality. 2001:BB6:7DC4:500:64F3:7F1A:5F:2ED8 (talk) 17:58, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We have to follow WP:Copyright policy. Does he make his videos freely available by Creative Commons licenses? – Muboshgu (talk) 18:18, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the vid of him assaultin a woman was uploaded to youtube under CCL 2601:281:DA01:70B0:4473:D9A6:9104:4268 (talk) 08:40, 15 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I uploaded a photo of his mugshot to Wikimedia Commons. We can use that photo, as long as everyone is fine with that. NesserWiki (talk) 16:37, 3 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
What's the copyright status of the mugshot? Simonm223 (talk) 16:38, 3 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It is not copyrighted. No mugshots are. NesserWiki (talk) 16:49, 3 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I mean I have no objection then but you might want to wait long enough for other editors to weigh in. Simonm223 (talk) 16:59, 3 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Mugshots are not an ideal profile photo because of obvious BLP and NPOV concerns. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:29, 3 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I will wait. NesserWiki (talk) 18:44, 3 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@NesserWiki, I know this is an old thread but just as a future note, most mugshots do have copyright. The exceptions (that is works that automatically go into the public domain) are mugshots by the federal government, California governments and Florida governments. Outside of those, most mugshots will be copyrighted by the agency that took them (see C:Commons:Copyright rules by territory/United States#Works by the US Government) and in this case that would be the Berwyn police department. [edit]

Under the 'Donald Trump' section the article has a quote from Fuentes which includes a reference to 'Gollum' supposedly the one from the Lord of the Rings according to this article. I don't believe he was referring Gollum, but rather 'Golem' which is a character in Jewish Folklore, he is obviously saying Trump is like a Golem, not 'Gollum', that doesn't make any sense. The fact he also references Frankenstein's Monster which is an artificial creation like the myth of the Jewish Golem, supports this. Fresbwh (talk) 20:31, 7 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately the source cited says Gollum and not Golem. So, if you want this changed, please present a RS that says Golem rather than Gollum. Simonm223 (talk) 21:38, 7 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. M.Bitton (talk) 00:25, 8 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New profile photo

[edit]

Could someone add a new profile photo of this person, the current photo is out of focus. Eric Carpenter (talk) 19:21, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

we dont have a better one. the only other one available is this
  • --FMSky (talk) 19:25, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@FMSky Hi, I tried to re-upload the same image but in better quality. However, it couldn't be uploaded, and I received an error about the detected MIME type of the file. Idk why Lililolol (talk) 04:02, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
did you upload it as a png file? it has to be the same file type as the original upload FMSky (talk) 04:30, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
    @FMSky Hi, I just uploaded it. Lililolol (talk) 04:13, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've reverted the change on Commons. The image was not an improvement. Heavily filtered images should not be used on Wikipedia, especially not for BLPs. In general, the use of AI for BLP images is also unlikely to gain consensus, per Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons#Images. I have made additional relevant comments on Lililolol's Commons talk page. Grayfell (talk) 05:16, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    "Alleged attemped murder"

    [edit]

The killer was caught on camera saying "Yo Nick" while holding a gun in his hand. How is that an "alleged" attempted murder. It is plain as day and this is blatant misinformation.

Wikipedia generally doesn't like using Twitter as a source (cf. WP:TWITTER). Also see WP:OR. However, if you do find any WP:RELIABLE sources, please make an edit request. /home/gracen/ (they/them) 16:09, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    Category: American Holocaust deniers

    [edit]

    Would this category be acceptable. Thermicknight7 (talk) 23:04, 2 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, per cited statements in the article body. Simonm223 (talk) 12:43, 3 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    remove American Traditionalist Catholics category

    [edit]

Nick is not a Traditionalist Catholic, that is, someone who attends the Latin Mass. Rather, he attends Novus Ordo, thus he is not a Traditionalist Catholic. Listenhereyadonkey (talk) 05:53, 16 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

According to this article in Washington Monthly, he identifies as a Traditional Catholic Squidroot2 (talk) 20:26, 13 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Squidroot2 In his own words, he has said he doesn't attend the latin mass, thus not a Traditional Catholic. Listenhereyadonkey (talk) 23:30, 13 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately that is technically WP:SYNTH unless he specifically said he's not a Traditionalist Catholic. We do need a source that says it explicitly. Simonm223 (talk) 10:33, 14 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Simonm223 Understood, if I can find the time, I'll try to find a clip. Listenhereyadonkey (talk) 02:09, 15 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    Poorly transcribed source

    [edit]

I can't edit this article, but I propose that the newsweek source for the quote "That was the moment when I realized it has gone too far, it is Frankenstein's monster, we've created a Gollum," be changed for the following Daily Beast source https://www.thedailybeast.com/neo-nazi-commentator-nick-fuentes-accepts-liberals-are-right/

The quote is quite obviously meant to say "golem" and not "Gollum", and the Daily Beast article correctly transcribes it. 2403:5817:648E:0:F1A8:4FB7:FA3A:4027 (talk) 10:12, 9 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
