Reported death

[edit]

I've removed the information regarding Peach's possible death as it was not supported by any reliable sources per WP:BLPSOURCES.-- Ponyobons mots 19:28, 19 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Can a tweet from Morris Bright MBE be considered reliable? Spectritus (talk) 09:23, 20 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
And Jean Lebrun? Spectritus (talk) 09:27, 20 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
And Philip Morris? Spectritus (talk) 21:22, 20 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Ponyo? Spectritus (talk) 13:25, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No, social media posts cannot be used. See WP:ABOUTSELF which states that self-published sources cannot be used to make claims about other individuals.-- Ponyobons mots 20:09, 24 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Ponyo Okay. Thanks. Spectritus (talk) 21:09, 24 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Ponyo What about https://cinedweller.com/celebrity/mary-peach/ ? Spectritus (talk) 21:13, 24 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The cinedweller website specifically states le Titulaire ne garantit en aucune façon l’exactitude, la précision ou l’exhaustivité des informations mises à disposition sur le Site,, so no. In addition, the content is user-generated by volunteers and the entry makes no mention of where the information was obtained.-- Ponyobons mots 22:55, 5 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Ponyo What about https://www.lefilmdujour.fr/2025/02/mary-peach-1934-2025.html ? Spectritus (talk) 11:59, 26 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Ponyo ? Spectritus (talk) 07:38, 28 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Blogs are not acceptable sources - see WP:BLOGS.-- Ponyobons mots 17:58, 28 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Ponyo https://cinedweller.com/celebrity/mary-peach/ isn't a blog, is it? Spectritus (talk) 09:35, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Spectritus, you continue to use sources that in no way meet reliable sourcing criteria to add WP:BLP violations to this article. If you can't understand what constitutes a reliable source, please stop editing the article altogether.-- Ponyobons mots 18:48, 5 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Ponyo I only used it because it has been used on other websites. And it's the front page of her funeral order of service. How can it not be reliable? I understand Wikipedia's strictness, but sometimes it goes too far. Spectritus (talk) 21:49, 5 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's a random image upload that doesn't even mention the name Mary Peach. You are other not reading or not understanding WP:BLP and WP:RS, the latter of which states Websites whose content is largely user-generated are generally unacceptable as sources. Sites with user-generated content include personal websites, personal and group blogs (excluding newspaper and magazine blogs), content farms, Internet forums, social media sites, fansites, video and image hosting services, most wikis and other collaboratively created websites. -- Ponyobons mots 21:55, 5 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Spectritus, Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard#Mary Peach, as you know full well. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 22:37, 5 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have once again removed the death from this article as no reliable source has verified the death. While the The Saturday Evening Post, which would normally be considered a reliable source, made mention of Mary Peach, it does not corroborate the death, but only makes reference to the Doctor Who blog article. -- Ponyobons mots 21:13, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
    @Ponyo Doesn't the fact that a reliable source like The Saturday Evening Post used DWG as a source mean that the latter is reliable? Spectritus (talk) 17:08, 11 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I already answered that directly above your post, and it has been discussed at Talk:Deaths in February 2025, where you also participated. -- Ponyobons mots 17:22, 11 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
