Lair (2007 PS3 game)

[edit]

This game killed factor 5 and is known for bad controls. It was also supposed to be a big release and there was some hype behind it. 85.80.237.150 (talk) 12:24, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Why is Hong Kong 97 not on this list?

[edit]

It is more notable than over half of the games here. 85.80.237.150 (talk) 19:47, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

No mention of Concord (2024)?

[edit]

The game caused a massive controversy from the strongly questionable character designs and greedy practices. I'm surprised it hasn't been listed as the latest entry into this… TripleA2006 (talk) 01:17, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Concord is considered a commercial failure, and is on that list. There wasn't enough time for any type of significant reception to develop from reliable sources to know if it was bad. Masem (t) 01:31, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour (2025)

[edit]

Should we put Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour on this list given all of the bad publicity it has got pre and post release? 2600:4041:528B:ED00:7409:A248:D536:A0EE (talk) 02:40, 14 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Just having a low score is not sufficient for inclusion, there needs to be some impact from that negative reception, and given this is Nintendo, its unlikely that there will be any impact. Masem (t) 02:53, 14 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I found some of its negative reception through these sources though I don't know of this is enough:

Perhaps this article needs it so that an edit notice appears with the required criteria. Food for thought.
In any case, I would say that it is eligible per the first criteria, but pending time and sources per the rest. --Super Goku V (talk) 13:36, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Again to stress, just have negative reviews is not sufficient, there needs to be some long term aspect that makes the game notable for its negative reviews, as other wise this list would be far too long. It's far too close to the switch 2's launch to know if the your's poor re eption is going to have any impact. Masem (t) 13:44, 17 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I am fully aware. Eligible per the first criteria just meant what it says in the notice: Having low review scores [...] is generally considered eligible but not guaranteed a spot on the list. Just got to wait now to see if any of the other criteria is ever fulfilled. --Super Goku V (talk) 09:56, 19 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Mindseye

[edit]

The recent Mindseye got terrible reviews and I feel like it is definetly notable because:

- There are some large names attached to it. The ex-lead of Rockstar, ex ceo of Jagex and IO interactive are involved.

- It was supposed to be a precursor to their actual big game, Everywhere. And I feel like it will impact that game negatively if it is ever released.

- I saw the game in the clearance bin already and its only been 5 days. 2401:7000:DB3D:9701:C08B:5E1:977F:6E86 (talk) 09:24, 18 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I need to wait to confirm this but there are now rumors of layoffs happening at the developer which might make this appropriatee to include, but at the same time, I don't think there were that many eyes on this title that were expecting a stellar presentation as to be "notable" yet. Masem (t) 12:45, 23 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
leaving a confirmation of the layoffs [2] but still waiting to see about longer or larger impacts. Masem (t) 00:17, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. And yes unfortunately the studio has suffered quite a bit from the launch. Although I do wish them luck in the future, I do think we should keep an eye out on what happens to their Everywhere game, as it seems like it was riding quite a bit on Mindseye's success. Only time will tell... 2401:7000:DB3D:9701:E80E:74E7:A071:6E29 (talk) 04:33, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
