I hope this page stays
[edit]I've seen other list pages being deleted, I'm hoping this will not end up being another one. Bbonds775 (talk) 17:10, 17 December 2024 (UTC)
- It's updated frequently (usually every few days) so i doubt it would ever be deleted. Jake11223344 (talk) 12:49, 27 March 2025 (UTC)
Please add Swami Sivananda.
[edit]Born on August 8, 1896, which would make him 128 years old as of February 2025 2405:201:4014:DC74:55A8:6D29:6E13:E417 (talk) 15:44, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- He is unvalidated by both the GRG and LongeviQuest. 586Deluxe (talk) 15:59, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- Sivananda is listed at Longevity claims#Recent.

Please remove Jeanne Calment picture
[edit]with time and better statistics, it is more and more evident that the extraordinary longevity of Jeanne Calment is probably a fake. 25 years after she passed away, the number of supercentenarians has gronw considerably and there is no single person reaching 120 years. 129.175.101.5 (talk) 08:51, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
Not done You have not provide verification from a reliable source that counter the citations in the article. Please see the verifiability, not truth essay. Even though Calment's case seems an anomaly to you, anomalies do occur. Peaceray (talk) 17:40, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- thank you,
- I do not mean to remove Jeanne Calment from the list, but I question the choice that was made recently to add her picture in the page. 129.175.101.5 (talk) 10:33, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
The REAL oldest person recorded to have ever lived
[edit]Kepoolele Apau BIRTH 1771 Hawaii County, Hawaii, USA DEATH 8 Nov 1898 (aged 126–127) Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA BURIAL Kawaiahao Church Cemetery Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA
Kepoolele Apau lived to the age of 127 years, 9 months, and 8 days, according to her obituary published in the Nov. 10, 1898 issue of The Independent. According to The Independent, she was born at Malama, Puna, on the Island of Hawaii. Her obituary in the Pacific Commercial Advertiser, published on its front page on Nov. 12, 1898, reports that she was born in Keahialaka, Puna, lived for some years in Honolulu, and died at the home of one of her sons. She and her husband had several sons and a daughter. A biography was published with Hawaii's 1896 census report. Indeed, the "Report of the General Superintendent of the Census, 1896" devotes five pages to the queries and methods used to confirm her approximate age, followed by recollections she shared of her long life.
"What a curious link with the past she is," write Emma M. Nakuina and W.D. Alexander in the report. "She must have been a little toddling child when Captain Cook came to the islands. She has seen the Monarchy of Hawaii consolidated and she has seen its fall. She remains to-day a monument of the past but one which must soon glide away and pass to the great unknown. We certify that the above statement is correct."
Another resource about her life is a feature story published on the front page of Hawaiian Gazette on Dec. 8, 1896. It includes mention of her service as attendant to Kapiolani I when she descended into Kilauea Crater to break the traditional kapu, as well as of her education and conversion to Christianity with Kapiolani. Her parents were Kapa and Kanealoha, of Puna, described as fisherfolk. 2603:800C:2300:16:F111:13E9:C4A3:918C (talk) 00:05, 25 March 2025 (UTC)

Color at Deceased
[edit]There it is |#f9f9f9|Deceased| . #f9f9f9 is also at number column at living, observable on a dark theme. The main problem is that on dark mode browsers it looks white, and the rows are almost black. I can put ||Deceased| and will look black but white theme users will see white and rows color will be #f9f9f9 and someone will undo my edit. Or I can put #202122 to match exactly the black rows color but then a white theme user will surely undo my edit. On dark theme is very annoying. How to put #202122 for a dark theme and #f9f9f9 for a white theme? Costin.b.1 (talk) 09:33, 27 April 2025 (UTC)

- Do you have verification from either Guinness World Records or * Gerontology Research Group's (GRG) Table E (verified supercentenarians) and Table I? Please see Wikipedia:WikiProject Longevity#Databases. Peaceray (talk) 17:17, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
