Name Halime

"Halime" is used in the series "Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem" and we do not know with certainty whether the general Mustafa's mother so called, so I vote to change the name of the article.--93.87.100.141 (talk) 14:39, 14 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

unnamed daughter

what does it mean an unnamed daughter? All ottoman princess were listed and had given names. I see that before there was the name Dilruba as her daughter.

@Nalanidil Actually what you just said is funny. An archived version of a website written by someone whose credibility cannot be confirmed is unreliable. Always find a credible and reliable source for your claims. Besides, Ottoman prince(ss) or not, some historical figures' names get lost in history. Name Halime Sultan

The following source name her Halime Sultan "Valide-i Sultan Mustafa Han-ı evvel, Halime Sultan, Ayasofya’da oğlunun türbesinde medfundur" i.e Mother of Sultan Mustafa the First, Halime Sultan, buried in her son's mausoleum, Hagia Sophia.

Status

Halime’s status as haseki has been explained by Gunhan Borecki in his book "A Queen-Mother at Work: On Handan Sultan and Her Regency During the Early Reign of Ahmed I". (pages 57-58, 66). Thoughts? Melty love (talk) 08:57, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Being it a very authoritative work, and being the author so competent, I would say that Halime could have been the Haseki of Sultan Mehmed III; reportedly, she was the favourite of the Sultan, while Handan was the favourite of the Valide Sultan (Safiye). I would also say - in the shoes of other users - that both their status are a little complicated to be explained without letting others to think that other sources are needed. As far as this concern only me, Börekçi is a good author and I would say that he explains the situation well, proving sources, and this - for me - is a sign of Halime acting as Haseki, while Handan's status as Haseki has to be demonstrated.
