I wonder if a woman can actually be called an electress though she has nothing whatever to do with electing. She merely happens to be married to a guy who has the theoretical right to do some electing. The sentence 'As the daughter of a reigning monarch, the hand of the young Elizabeth was seen as a very desirable prize' is ungrammatical. It was Elizabeth herself, not her hand, that was the daughter of a reigning monarch. No offense but she’s a Princess of Great Britain at the time of her birth. Why are we referring to her as “Elizabeth Stuart”? Shouldn’t she be “Princess Elizabeth of Great Britain” or “Princess Elizabeth Stuart”? I apologize as I haven’t read about her much so I have no idea what they wrote in the history books about what she was known as. Thought I would ask before messing with it. Thanks!
