Did you know nomination

[edit]

  • Comment: Sorry this is late - I was misled by the DYKCheck tool, which only flags articles as out of date if it's more than ten days since creation/expansion. Obviously I've been involved with DYK quite a bit in the past, but I don't submit articles very often and I made a good-faith assumption that the rules had been changed since I last submitted one.

  • The article has been sufficiently expanded and looks perfectly presentable, with excellent sources. Thank you, Amakuru. We can certainly cope with a couple of days of tardiness. I am not convinced, however, that the proposed hook is the best we can come up with from such an interesting article. (What even is a bivouac?) I think the disappearance of the glacier would make a much more attractive hook. What do you say? Also, is this the glacier? It is tagged as such. If it is, it might be possible to request the photograph from the author. Surtsicna (talk) 10:58, 18 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
