Edit Request for 21 April 2022

[edit]

Dr Pepper is also sold in the United Kingdom. Historically, the European Union would have covered the United Kingdom but, due to Brexit (The United Kingdom leaving the European Union), this no longer applies. Please could admins update this as the article is semi-protected. Many thanks.

Error on page German Variation

[edit]

The article states "German Variation, Germany's version of Dr Pepper, similar to its UK version, is also manufactured with a reduced amount of sugar and artificial sweeteners (also aspartame and acesulfame K). However, the sugar is reduced to 6.8 g per 100 ml, marginally less than in the United Kingdom.[36]"

However, after looking at the can on my desk from the UK the sugar content is 4.9 g per 100 ml. Making germany's version MORE than the UK, not less as stated. Here is the nutritional information for Dr Pepper from the Coca Cola website

Page states that Dr Pepper is distributed in Canada by PepsiCo but it's actually Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) as proven at their Canadian website: https://www.drpepper.ca/en/faq/ 2607:F2C0:E362:200C:E9D9:F096:2BBB:775E (talk) 01:33, 4 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

New Dr Pepper Blackberry (Feb 2025)

[edit]

Hello, wanted to point a user with clearance to edit here to the release of a new supposedly permanent Dr Pepper Blackberry variant in the US (https://www.msn.com/en-us/foodanddrink/foodnews/dr-pepper-launches-newest-fruity-permanent-flavor/ar-AA1yM9T1). Anecdotally, they had it in Oregon in January if not earlier. Anyway, I believe this and the accompanying no sugar version need to be added to the article. Thanks! Shoot, I'm probably supposed to follow a specific edit request syntax, please let me know if I should remove and lurk more haha. RatControlled (talk) 23:16, 12 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Done... It appears to be a clear and concise request with a reliable source for us to cite. Good job! - Adolphus79 (talk) 01:33, 13 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Marketing - Semi-protected edit request

[edit]

(Should add information regarding the "Sweet One" campaigns and adds which started in 2015.)

Marketing campaigns for Diet Dr Pepper labeled as "the Sweet One" began in 2015 with the first appearance of a character named Lil' Sweet, depicted by American Idol season 1 runner-up Justin Guarini. The ads contain Lil' Sweet, a diminutive glam-rocker presenting Diet Dr Pepper to otherwise unassuming individuals going about normal tasks. Lil' Sweet has occasionally also been seen in advertisements for regular Dr Pepper. The ads were intended to promote the diet soda as a sweet alternative to competitors while containing zero sugar and calories. Reviews on the Lil' Sweet persona were mixed but Keurig Dr Pepper continues to present a new ad featuring Lil' Sweet every few years and launched a Funko Pop! figurine featuring the red-headed rocker in 2020.

Hello, a small correction is needed to the sugar content. It is not 40g, it is 39g. This is the manufacturers website stating that. [1] HHRSS (talk) 23:28, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Correction

[edit]

Dr. Pepper did not go insolvent in the early 1980's they merged with the Canada Dry Corporation and took on significant debt. In doing so, they had to make very large debt repayments which were depressing earnings. They then decided to put themselves up for sale and Forstmann Little & Co took them private in a leveraged buyout in 1986. 69.207.130.120 (talk) 18:15, 25 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Have you found a source which confirms all this? Barry Wom (talk) 10:19, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
