Consider the Autopsy

[edit]

https://www.hennepin.us/-/media/hennepinus/residents/public-safety/medical-examiner/floyd-autopsy-6-3-20.pdf There are a number of medical reasons George Floyd was predisposed to death at the time of his altercation with police on the day he passed. Stress and contributing hormonal reactions to his situation would have debatably been too much for his doubly-enlarged heart, all while under the influence of multiple substances such as meth, THC, and fentanyl. This article may need to consider details of his official autopsy report (not the one paid for by his family, as the examiner’s report follows trend of biased autopsies given on multiple prior autopsies). “No life-threatening injuries identified” in this official autopsy report poses contrast to the Wikipedia page’s statement or claim that Mr. Floyd was murdered by the police officer. It may have been the high stress of his situation that caused Mr. Floyd’s untimely death, stress which could have come from any next event of high concern to Mr. Floyd. 2605:59C8:11BC:7110:BC26:ABF:2992:5358 (talk) 03:06, 30 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Derek Chauvin § Murder of George Floyd is intended to be a summary of Murder of George Floyd, which has more autopsy details.—Bagumba (talk) 05:46, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
1.) Even if he was predisposed, it is not a small matter that the "next event" was unnecessary and a proactive choice deemed excessive by those with oversight.
It is no small matter that he even being "predisposed" to die that he died at the exact moment killing things happened to him.
Reading that autopsy it's almost impressive that he was functioning given how many drugs he tested positive for; a jury still thought it was a bad idea to have a live person subjected to that specific kind of physical restraint and have him no longer be alive after it was applied.
2.) Murder doesn't mean they set out to do it. The article says explicitly his charge was an unintentional killing.
3.) Who or what are you defending? The victim made bad choices and rolled the dice. The cop was overly forceful and needlessly killed a weak outlaw. Both are paying the price. It's inarguable, and more to the point, not a matter for this article, which doesn't sit and gather opinions but just aggregates well-sourced assessments of a circumstance. 2603:9001:6B00:5FC3:7922:AA5A:53FD:2CE7 (talk) 07:02, 21 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Would it be justifiable to include a crop of the lead image in the Murder of George Floyd article showing only Derek Chauvin? Groot42 (talk) 09:07, 10 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No, because he's alive. NFCC portraits are for dead people and occasionally those with life in prison, and Chauvin will likely get out of prison while alive. (I don't know why the mugshot guidelines were linked, that had nothing to do with the deletion). PARAKANYAA (talk) 09:23, 10 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I'm Gonna Blocked Him!! 36.69.143.61 (talk) 22:27, 14 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
WP:MUG was more of an issue prior to his conviction.

Because a police booking photograph can imply that the person depicted was charged with or convicted of a specific crime ...

But he's since been found guilty. Also, the prior FfD was before there was a standalone page for him. —Bagumba (talk) 10:16, 11 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
There were three FfDs. One before he was convicted on those grounds, one earlier this year by me that came to a consensus to keep, and another by someone else recently that came to a consensus to delete on the grounds that he is still alive so NFCC criteria do not apply.
